10. View the exhibits at American Visionary Art Museum

American Visionary Art Museum is home to one of the most notable outdoor sculptures in the city, Vollis Simpson’s Giant Whirligig. Even the exterior of the building is a giant mosaic exhibition built by youth-at-risk. Other permanent exhibitions to check out include painted screens and DeVon Smith’s creation, ‘World’s First Family of Robots’. Before planning a visit, be sure to check out their website to learn more about the special exhibitions and if there are any events ongoing so you can participate. Do note that they close at 5 pm, but you can still head here late at night to admire the mosaic exhibit and the outdoor sculpture.
