Al Mandoos Restaurant was opened by this chef and he has designed the menu and added all the Omani dishes that people crave for! He makes his very own version of the dishes. The menu features some of the most amazing dishes like harees, a wheat berry and lamb porridge; maleh, basically an Omani ceviche of salted fish soaked in lime with onions; madrouba, an amazing, cooked-down mash of turmeric-scented rice and chicken topped with cardamom ghee and fried onions; and luscious coconut shrimp curry. This place is worth trying.

If you want to try the national dish of Oman you should definitely try Bin Ateeq! This dish is cooked only during weddings or Eid holidays.It is made out of meat, usually lamb or beef, and with spices to add flavor and it is then wrapped up with oil and banana leaf and cooked with heavy smoke for about 24 hours. This restaurant serves it the traditional way that cannot be found elsewhere! It is amazing and worth trying.

If you are wanting to taste something different, then you should try Omani seafood. If you want to have the best seafood platter, you should order at the Turkish House! This restaurant is located near the waters of the Oman sea and it has been beautifully set with a large dining room, which is beautiful. The best-served dishes are mixed mezze, a massive platter of fresh hummus, baba ghanoush, tomato chutney, olive salad, and labne that comes with fresh, foot-long ovals of nigella-seeded Turkish bread. You can also order some grilled prawns which are a specialty here.
