Greenwood is known as the Emerald City. True to its name, it embellishes the western portion of South Carolina with tall forests, rolling moors and hills. It got its name from judge John McGehee’s wife, since they owned the plantation that was Greenwood back in 1823. The city has since been developing both industries-wise and population-wise. More residential houses and industrial buildings, such as several eminent companies, have come up simultaneously in this beautiful town. Greenwood is also ideally located, away from the hustle and bustle of the city yet in the middle of several municipalities. Apart from being a geographic marvel, with its beautiful parks, mountains and lakes, it is also rich culturally and hosts an arts centre in its very well-known Emerald Triangle. If you’re planning on travelling here, we recommend putting these amazing things to do in Greenwood, South Carolina, on your itinerary.

The centre of attraction here in the early 20th century used to be the lily pond right in the middle, which is surrounded by walking trails. However, the golf course and the clubhouse have drawn most of the attention away from the pond.
A stroll through this park can be quite a romantic endeavour if you are with your partner and a pretty rejuvenating one if you are alone. Make memories that you will cherish for a lifetime.
