One of the best places Hardeeville is known for is Savannah National Wildlife Refuge. Lovers of the great outdoors and its many wonders will have a blast visiting this refuge, which was established as a habitat for both resident and migratory wildlife. It is also a forest preserve, with 31,551 acres (12,768.2 hectares) of freshwater marshes, tidal creeks, and forests.

The dikes are some of the best observation points in the preserve, and visitors can explore them on foot or by bicycle during the day. Recreational activities like hunting and fishing are also allowed at certain seasons, but you must first check the regulations if you intend to do so!

Learn more about Hardeeville’s history of settlers, the timber and lumber industry, railroads, and other significant events by paying a visit to the places that defined its past, including Hardeeville City Hall. This is a landmark on Main Street that consists of a school complex, city offices, community spaces, and a museum.

Some of the other places to check out close to City Hall are Argent Lumber Company Engine Number 7 and Hardeeville United Methodist Church.

Spreading over 321 acres (130 hectares), Sergeant Jasper Park offers visitors a variety of fun outdoor activities like disc golf, fishing, and biking. It’s also a popular spot for birdwatchers. Visitors can even rent kayaks to explore the lake.

Along Hummingbird Lane, a fireworks store by the name of Crazy Joe’s can be found. With a big shrieking cat as its logo, this hobby shop that also sells classic and cheesy American souvenirs is always a fun place to visit.

If you’re dropping by before the Fourth of July or New Year’s Eve (or any other day, really!), you’ll be surprised by the selection of fireworks you’ll find here. Past customers have praised the great deals and prices at Crazy Joe’s. Even if you aren’t on the lookout for colorful fireworks, you’re also spoilt for choice when it comes to novelty items.
