One of the nature trips you can embark on in San Jose del Monte, Bulacan, is the peaceful Tuntong Falls. This tourist attraction is a fairly easy hike, but on certain parts, the trail gets slippery and muddy, so make sure that you are wearing and/or have the proper gear. Whether you’re flying solo or going on an adventure with the family, Tuntong Falls is a must-visit. Of course, once you reach the majestic falls, take out your camera for a few snapshots!

When you need to take some quiet time for yourself or hear a Sunday mass with your family and friends, one of the best places to go in San Jose del Monte is Padre Pio Mountain of Healing. A giant statue of St. Padre Pio, an Italian priest, is built on the hill and is often visited by Catholic devotees. The summit is about 150 steps from the bottom. This attraction is open to the public at any time of day.

3. An invigorating and engaging getaway to Paradise Adventure Camp

There is nothing more exciting than to explore and hurdle obstacles, more-so when we conquer it together with others. Sports and physical challenges are great to achieve relaxation and promote good rest. In the Philippines, most people used to engage themselves in physical activities with games like taguan (hide and seek), habulan (running and tagging people where the ones who are tagged become “it”), and more. But today’s generation is engrossed in playing video games and the so-called ‘interactive’ online games. An adventure in paradise could be the answer! Paradise Adventure Camp is designed to enhance camaraderie and teamwork, so it’s always best to go in groups. Families, schools, even corporate groups can enjoy this tourist spot in San Jose Del Monte, Bulacan. Their water activities are one of the most exciting experiences one can have, challenging you to think, control and gain balance. Areas are provided with aerial and land challenges also, and you can get in touch with nature here too!

4. Find a place of zen at Kaytitinga Falls

Posted by Licao Licao / Kaytitinga Falls, Mt. Balagbag - Rodriguez, Rizal on Thursday, 31 October 2013

While a lot of people would mostly think of “zen” as part of a religion, it is actually more of a way of life. Meditation and enlightenment should always be part of a relatively busy life. So at least once a day, try to get the chance to find a place to meditate and relax. Zen is always represented by stones, water, and greens. Kaytitinga Falls comprises all those things. This place to visit in San Jose Del Monte, Bulacan, is a wondrous site of cascading waters from the rough and pointed edges of stones, from one of the sides of Mt. Balabag. It could be your wonderful place of zen during your vacation.

5. Break monotony on Mount Balagbag

Camp and get to explore above sea level! Most people during the warm season would always head to the beaches. You can get so much calmness and a sense of peace from the calming waters, but that does not mean you don’t get the same feelings in elevated areas. Put on your hiking or trekking gear, bring your tent and don’t forget the first aid kit. Mount Balagbag is 777 meters (2,549 feet) above sea level. This tourist attraction in San Jose Del Monte, Bulacan, is high enough to create and paint a picture of Metro Manila from this point. You can actually take a bus to Tungkong Mangga from EDSA Cubao. From Tungkong, you can ride a jeepney to Licao-Licao, which is the boundary of Rizal and Bulacan. Then you can start the 30-40 minute walk to the Veterans, or you can take a tricycle. And from there, you can start your journey for about an hour and thirty minutes going to Helipad, which is known to be the highest peak. The cool breeze and the big vast land, with its irregular terrains that are covered with the luscious greenery, is a sight you cannot miss. So come see a part of the Sierra Madre Mountain Ranges and enjoy a different view!

6. Break through the mysteries of the Shrine of the Lady of Good Voyage

Posted by Vhanessa Mae C Borromeo on Monday, 20 March 2017

Life is full of mysteries. Allow yourself to be mesmerized by the beautiful stories behind this place, as a landmark never makes a mark unless it has a significance. A visit to the Shrine of Our Lady of Peace and Good Voyage Parish (Antipolo Church) may just bring you down a special memory lane. “Antipolo” was derived from the Tipolo tree, which is very rich in the area. After the governor, who brought the image to the area, died, it was believed that the image was always found in this kind of tree. And maybe a stop by the Lady, who went through eight voyages, might just give you that mystifying experience that can make a travel experience extra special. Travel and learn new things in San Jose for an exceptional experience.

7. Keeping faith at the Grotto

Editor's Note: There's no photo available at the time of writing

During any travel, we always see amazing things and hear great stories, all with their uniqueness. So even if we go to places that give us a familiar feeling, the experiences will never be the same. Mrs Anita Guanzon, the owner of this land, created the same setup of the grotto of the Lady of Lourdes in France, after she visited there and got healed of the big C. With a little twist, this place has a rosary hill and 14 stations of the cross. She wanted to bring back this place to her homeland and share the experience with those who cannot travel to France. In fact, one can see the abandoned crutches of those who were disabled, who regained back their normal abilities, hanging in the vicinity near the grotto, as proof that they had the same experience of healing. A visit to pay homage and to enrich your soul are just some of the reasons that you should see this area. If you believe in the quote, “faith is a knowledge within the heart, beyond the reach of proof”, then experience the awe-inspiring stories and the life-changing encounters in San Jose.
