1. Wantagh Museum of the Wantagh Preservation Society

There are total three sections in the Wantagh Museum. The very first is The Station, the second is ‘Jamaica’ Railroad Car and the third is the Original Wantagh Post Office. The Station was built in 1885 and is restored to its 1904 appearance. In the 70s the ‘Jamaica’ Railroad Car was a magnificent parlor car complete with solarium, cooking facilities and an ice-cooled air conditioning system. It is a must-see attraction at the Wantagh Museum. Across from the station is Wantagh’s Original Post Office, which offers insights into the 100-year-old history of the place. There are photographs in the exhibition and certain memorabilia from Wantagh’s history.

6. Theodore Roosevelt Nature Center

The Theodore Roosevelt Nature Centre is a barrier island beach in Jones Beach State Park. There is a large exhibit area with a variety of marine habitats on the South Shore Estuary Reserve. If you are visiting with kids, then there is a lot that kids can do here. One of the best experiences is to enjoy the company of the marine animals or can even enjoy digging for whale bones at the Discovery Bone Cove. There is also a beautiful butterfly garden and a shipwreck area.

7. Wantagh Park

The Wantagh Park is an amazing county park located in Nassau County. The Wantagh Park is a unique park with tons of recreational activities on a natural beautiful waterfront area. There are many things to do here, including sports such as golf and there is also a walking path used for jogging and bicycle riding. There is a tennis court and basketball court along with softball and baseball fields. There is also one roller rink for roller skating.

The Wantagh Park has a large boating marina and a launch ramp. The ramp is used by Wantagh Bay Yacht Club and Royal Menhune Yacht Club. The park also offers a swimming pool! If you plan to visit Wantagh Park on the Memorial Day weekend, the Wantagh Bay Yacht Club sponsors an event with a ceremony that honors soldiers.
