3. Cathedral of the Holy Resurrection
If you are at Rynok Square, you might as well pop by the majestic Cathedral of the Holy Resurrection. Entering Ivano-Frankivsk in the early 18th-century, Jesuit monks founded a catholic church whose construction was completed several years later. However, due to poor foundations and architectural design whilst constructing the church, irreparable cracks soon developed and the entire building was demolished for safety. A new temple was constructed later in the 18th-century and further refurbished in the 19th-century, where it still stands today. Do not let the simple colors on the exterior of the church fool you. Step inside, and you will be swept off your feet with a kaleidoscope of colors.

4. The Church of Virgin Mary (Prycarpathian Museum of the Arts)
The oldest building in Ivano-Frankivsk, The Church of Virgin Mary was built with the intention to function as a burial vault for the Potocki family – Polish aristocrats who “owned” Ivano-Frankivsk in the 17th-century. Later in the 19th-century, the cathedral was severely damaged by fire where the roof, tower and dome were destroyed. Restoration efforts were in place after the fire but soon, the church faced imminent closure when the Soviet authorities took ownership of the city. Thankfully, the church was not entirely demolished and the bell tower we see today was rebuilt based on old photos and blueprints.
Today, Ivano-Frankivsk Art Museum occupies the premise where there are numerous collections and exhibits held within the church’s wall. For a small entrance fee, you can head on in and view the curated works of prominent local artists and sculptors as well as masterpieces of international painters of the 18th to 20th centuries. Do note that the museum is closed on Mondays.

Recommended by both locals and tourists, you are definitely missing out if you choose to skip this restaurant! However, do note that the ambience might be a little too rowdy and noisy for children. Do not expect too much for what you are paying, this restaurant definitely does not meet fine-dining standards. Yet, do expect friendly staff, tasty food and a great time with your friends over a mug of beer. With a range of options for mains and a variety of alcoholic drinks to choose from, you will definitely be spoilt for choice. Oh, do be warned that their servings are huge; hence, definitely worth the dollar!
