Since Jining is the place where Confucius was born, one of the highlights of a visit is the Cemetery of Confucius. In 1994 it was included in the UNESCO World Heritage Site list.

The Cemetery of Confucius is a cemetery of the Kong clan in Confucius’ hometown Qufu in Shandong province. Confucius himself and some of his disciples are buried there, as well as many thousands of his descendants. Everything about Confucius and his descendants is all written on each wall of the cemetery to honor them and provide information to all. The place is known as the “Temple and Cemetery of Confucius and the Kong Family Mansion in Qufu”.
