Lindsay Pettus Greenway is an ADA-accessible, hard-surfaced track for strolling, jogging, and biking. The majority of the trail lies within the Katawba Valley Land Trust for long-term preservation. It passes in a lush hardwood forest teeming with wildlife.
This attraction features an area with a small enclosed gazebo for gatherings and courses, a dock that overlooks the manmade marshland, and environmental education panels that highlights the wildlife and history of the place. Along the course, there are seats and bike racks where you can rest.

2. Bob Doster's Backstreet Studio

This studio is a marvelous place to visit because of the excellent artist who works here. Bob Doster’s studio is full of his exceptional artwork, constructed from stainless steel. A visit to his garden and shop is an adventure and well worth your time. I highly recommend a visit to this staple studio in this art-centric community. Bob also teaches classes for children.

3. Lancaster Super Speedway

This is a good, family fun attraction. Kids enjoy checking out the races and the high-level of competition at this place. Food is priced reasonably here and it is a great place for a family to spend the day. Check their website for event listings and head down to the tracks!

4. Springs House

Springs House is a very interesting place, full of artwork. Entry is free and many events are held here. People visit Spring House to see the wonderful collection of textile and other types of art, on display. Home to the Lancaster County Council of the Arts, the house was built in the late 1800s and contains a rotating exhibit of local artists, in two galleries. The historic home was listed in the National Register March 20, 1986.

5. Goodtime Charlies

Goodtime Charlies is a great place for people who like to have fun and who want to check out some live music. Tourists and locals come to enjoy the wide variety of music featured here, including nationally recognized recording artists and local bands. There is also karaoke here nad other events. There is are pool tables and plenty of drinks for every taste. The staff is very friendly here and it is a clean and safe environment for all adults. They have a great reputation for good food and reasonable prices and I recommend a visit to this place if you’re looking for some fun, during your vacation.

6. Benford Brewing Company

This brewery is an excellent place to visit if you’re looking to see a craft brewery at work. Locally owned and operated and brewed in small batches, the Benford Brewing Company owners are friendly and welcoming to visitors. A working farm, the Benford Brewing Company showcases the first agricultural brewery in the state and they promote agritourism by offering tours and opening their farm to visitors. With cattle that eat the spent grains, to the three tapped fresh water springs on the premises, this is a great place to see beer made, the natural way. If you’re fond of different varieties of beer, check them out.

7. The Craft Stand

This is another very interesting place for those who are fond of beer, as it is a locally owned beer store, with a fantastic selection of craft brews. It is even a good stop for those who don’t drink beer, as they have root beer on tap as well as wine. Tourists are allowed to bring their own food with them and pets are also allowed on site. The main feature of the Craft Stand is that is on the National Register of Historic Places and located in the middle of the cultural arts district. Live music, a bottle shop and a taproom, the Craft Stand is a clean and comfortable place, with knowledgeable and friendly staff and I highly recommend a visit, during your vacation.

8. Buford Battle Ground Monument

This place is a very interesting site and marks the place where soldiers lost their lives during a battle between 350 Virginians, led by Colonel Abraham Buford against the British military, in the year 1780. It is worth seeing this significant historical site and there are several signboards here that explain the details of the battle.

This is a clean and green park with a number of trails and footpaths for walking. There is also a museum here, where the staff are very friendly and always on hand to explain anything tourists want to know about. There is a small playground for kids, along with ponds where you can sit and have a picnic with your family. There is also a large statue of Andrew Jackson which, which is a great point for photos and you can rent a canoe or paddle boat and float about with the ducks. A great place to spend an afternoon with the family, Andrew Jackson State Park is relaxing and beautiful and the treasure of Lancaster.

10. Carolina Adventure World

This is a great place for rides and a great stop if you are looking for a thrilling experience. Children can enjoy disc golf here and the entire staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Motocross, ATV rentals, camping and cabin rentals are all available here. The trails are nicely groomed and well labeled and the food is reasonably priced, here. This is a great place to bring your kids.
