Morzine is relatively unknown, compared to some other French resorts. But its easy access, along with its genuine ambiance make it a fantastic choice for a winter getaway. Feel the connection to 650 km (403.9 miles) of ski runs in the Portes du Soleil ski region, with each run a unique experience in itself.
But wait, you’re not a skier? Fear not, the resort in Morzine and the surrounding area has plenty to offer. In addition to several enticing bars, cafés, and restaurants, there is an aquatic center, night tobogganing, and an ice rink, while the aged streets are lined with fashionable shops.

This is a fantastic family activity or something to do if you want to rest your ski legs. Enjoy the resort area in a completely unconventional way as you ‘mush’ your team of husky dogs along the many miles of groomed trails. You will be in charge of your own sled and tandem of frisky husky dogs as you steer them along woodland pathways, next to the gorgeous mountains. You are now ready to enjoy the mountains with an amazing winter activity, so it’s best to reserve your team and sled as soon as you arrive at the resort.

4. Night skiing
After the sun sets and the ski slopes slowly begin to close, it’s usually time to return to the villa for a warming drink and a little comradery with fellow skiers, but now you can experience a completely new environment, for skiing. If you are looking for a unique skiing adventure, you must try night skiing. The floodlit mountain slopes will provide you the opportunity to squeeze in a few more runs but be sure you always ski with a buddy when it gets dark – it’s safer and more fun. The ski resorts in France are becoming more and more equipped for nighttime skiing and Morzine is well ahead of the curve.

The Segway is an electric scooter with two wheels that provides mobility in a new, fun, and unique manner. It is a one-person electric vehicle with two wheels, which will transport you and the family around the resort area, at your own leisurely pace. Now you can enjoy this unusual method of transportation on the mountains, in Morzine. To drive the Segway you use your own body movements: leaning forward will advance and lean back to slow down. And to steer, just turn your body in the direction you want to go.

6. Snowmobiling
Snowmobiles are an exceptional way to discover Morzine, as you escape into the woods and blast around the empty snow fields. It is a fun and exciting activity to participate in, especially as the sun sets and darkness descends. Darting around on a Skidoo, enjoying the landscape and the empty mountains, gives you a whole new perception of Morzine. Snowmobiles are a great way to explore the area, particularly as you get to drive them when the resort is at its quietest.

Odds are, during your stay, you will have a bad weather day. Take a break from activities and spend a family day shopping in Morzine and the surrounding area. Although many people wouldn’t really think of Morzine as a center for shopping, the town claims some excellent shops. As one would expect from a primarily outdoor activities resort, there are plenty of active-wear stores where you can purchase some of the top snowboard, ski, and mountaineering brands but there are also some other fashionable clothing stores, as well.
