My absolute favorite part of the house was leaving our window open at night

This airy cabin is one of the eight 100-year-old cottages near Cheyenne Road, that used to be employee housing for the Broadmoor Resort. Today, they are privately owned, and the hosts only rent them to female travellers. This communal style living arrangement allows you to mix with others and still have your privacy, you’ll also have Wifi and free parking on the premises. The entrance has a bridge that takes you over North Cheyenne Creek into a woodland cove. You can walk to Helen Hunt Falls, hiking and mountain bike trails, as well as two reservoirs. You can also walk to Sacred Ground Cafe and the luxurious Colorado Springs Broadmoor Resort. Wildlife roams free around the gardens here, and there are four rescue dogs that the host owns.

7. Just a short walk from old Colorado city
