Known for the Tribeca Film Festival, Manhattan’s Tribeca is lined with cobblestone streets and world-famous restaurants that are also especially known to be called home by celebrity residents like Robert De Niro and Beyonce. It is one of Manhattan’s hottest and priciest neighbourhoods. It is also a fashionable neighbourhood of homes and shops, especially full of charm. Short for the “Triangle below Canal,” Tribeca is one of New York City’s oldest neighbourhoods, but also contains some of the city’s newest and tallest buildings. Take a tour around the area, and stop to check out some of the cafes in Tribeca, New York City.

1. Aroma Espresso Bar

Aroma Espresso Bar is just conveniently located 2 blocks away from Grand Central, you should come here if you want a dose of coffee that is not from Starbucks! The Halumi salad here is known to be delicious. You should also try the turkey BLT sandwich with multi-grain bread that they bake themselves. You will get a free piece of chocolate with every coffee that you order, and you will love the almond croissant! Most patrons come here for the coffee and tea, and their drinks are generally good. Overall, it is a cute cafe with some seating.

This cool little cafe will sure be one of your favourites, as the coffee and service are great. They also serve pastries if you’re interested, so grab some good stuff if you are in the area! It has a real neighbourhood feel to it but as long as you like coffee, even if you don’t live in Tribeca, it is worth the schlep over! Come to morning coffee here as the beginning and highlight of your day in NYC, the lines move fast even though they are crowded. 9. Benvenuto Cafe

A great place to go after hours, the food is always delicious and fresh. The service is fast and the night shift staff is great too! Best spot downtown, you will love this restaurant! This place has the best food on their entire menu and is open 24/7. This is one of the very few places in the neighbourhood which will serve a full hot meal for Sunday breakfast, just order at the counter and they bring it out to you. The prices are decent, and the drinks are first-rate, deserving five stars in the diner category. This is a cafe done right.

The pistachio financier is a favourite, and their croissants, pain au chocolat, bread and baguette are very delicious and exactly like those in France! Like everything else located in the area of Tribeca, it can get quite busy, but it is worth the splurge and patience. This is a cute cafe with lots of desserts at its window and counter, as well as sandwiches and salads in the fridge inside. The raspberry tart not only looks fresh and good from the window, but it is actually amazing, with a flaky crust, custard middle and fresh raspberries on top. It is definitely a wonderful fruit tart, but can be a bit on the pricier side. The customer service there is also really great, the people are friendly, and they will give you a cute bag to hold your pastry when asked. The packaging is very cute, and you will definitely be back to try more pastries!

Like any predominately professional area in Manhattan, Tribeca is largely fueled by caffeine. While the area is full of great coffee, the sea of cafes can be hard to navigate. And although you can find a Starbucks on almost any corner in Manhattan, skip the chains and tuck into one of the NYC coffee shops that the locals love to frequent! This is a list of the best coffee shops in Tribeca for when you need an early-morning caffeine jolt, a sunny window seat to read a book, or simply a spot to catch up with a friend. Although the vibe differs at each, one thing is guaranteed: excellent coffee, made by baristas who know what they’re doing.
