7. Gamble Rogers State Park
Gamble Rogers Memorial State Recreation Area is one of Florida’s state parks and is located right on Flagler Beach. It spreads to about 144 acres (58.27 hectares) and is named after the famous Florida folk artist, Gamble Rogers. In October 1991, while camping on this site, Rogers tried to rescue a tourist during a heavy riptide after a child cried for help. Both Rogers and the tourist drowned and did not survive. The state legislature then created the park in his honor. Nowadays, the park is a popular spot for picnics, eco-tours, paddleboarding, and many other nature trips.
