Known for its beautiful beaches, the Gold Coast is the second most populated city in Queensland, but you’d never know it when you’re there. There’s a laid back vibe where everyone says “no worries” and are relaxed. The cafes are filled with smiling locals and people say hello when you walk down the street. Being a surfer’s paradise with pristine beaches and warm climate, it makes for a great place to visit year round.
There are many places you can stay on the Gold Coast, but renting a room on Airbnb will ensure you get the most of being part of the local culture. To enhance your experience, how about staying on the beach in an accommodation that allows you to be lulled to sleep with the soothing sounds of crashing waves?.
Stay at a surfer pad
Located on Tugun, you can get a chilled space on the beach offered by Dan, your friendly host. This room is one of two rooms you can rent in the condo unit. It has a queen size bed with desk and fan. The bathroom is shared between you, Dan and the other guest. In addition, you can look forward to free coffee and tea and a patio that has a view of the ocean where you can have your breakfast. The condo has a surfer vibe to it, as it is filled with surfboards and cozy couches to relax on. Dan and the other guests are there for conversations and to give suggestions on things to do. The beach is just steps from the door and waiting for you to jump in.
Amenities around your accommodation
The unit has a small kitchen that you may use to store your groceries in the refrigerator and the stove to cook. It is walking distance to town where you’ll find a few cafes, bars, and a grocery store. Check out Cafe Caribou for amazing eggs benedict for breakfast. There are plenty of shops where you can look for local items and swimwear if you forgot your swimsuit. International travelers or those arriving by flight would be happy to know that the airport is close at 15 minutes drive away. Uber is also available in Gold Coast and is highly preferred over cab rides, even by the locals. Uber drivers can pick you up and take you to/from the airport for around 10.00 USD.
Gold Coast’s pristine beaches
With an average temperature of 70 F (21 C) to 83 F (28 C) year round, it’s a great place to go for a winter getaway. The coastline is approximately 35 miles long of clean, white sandy beaches and is the most popular tourist destination in Australia. With over ten core beaches to choose from, there’s something for everyone; surfers, swimmers, families, couples, and even spring breakers. Most beaches have shops and restaurants near them so you can pop up for food or to look around during the day. You don’t have to go far to visit the beach with it being a few steps from your front door.
Make new friends in the Gold Coast
Staying at Dan’s place will allow you to meet other travelers from around the world. You will have a chance to have conversations with them in the cozy living room and hear about their travels and experiences. You may even spend the day at the beach together or share a meal at the unit. If you like learning about different cultures and meeting new people, Dan’s place is for you!
