7. Gourdon, France
Gourdon is a highly interesting place to go near Monaco. Situated on top of a rock with steep cliffs on some sides, this village is 60 km (38 mi) west of Monaco and accessible only by one entrance. Visit the castle, the most prominent structure in the village. Shops line the main street, all housed in brick structures that once served as homes.
