5. Hopetoun Tearooms

The Hopetoun Tearooms was named after its founder, Lady Hopetoun (wife of the First Victorian Governor), and to this day it still carries its proud teatime tradition within the historical Block Arcade that has been lovingly restored. What more can I say? Lindt Chocolat is synonymous with fine chocolate and skillful craftsmanship. Try their opera cake (layered cake of dark chocolate ganache, coffee buttercream and almond sponge) and pair it with their signature hot chocolate drink that comes with a small pot of freshly frothed milk and another of flowing milk or dark chocolate to be mixed to your heart’s content. That really made my Sunday afternoon in Melbourne.
