Owner Ericka Frank has been baking cakes since she was 12 yrs old. Originally from Memphis, Tennessee, her passion for the culinary arts led her to St. Louis to complete her master’s degree in dietetics. All of their cakes are frosted with the Cakery’s original buttercream and are decorated with precision. They even have ready to go cakes, for those times you’re pressed for time to get a cake for your wedding anniversary, birthday, or to celebrate a promotion. Just choose one of their luscious flavors of ready to go cakes, and you’re set. Each cake is a pre-decorated, one-layer 9-inch cake that serves approximately 10.

4. The Cup


Another shop owned by Ericka Frank in 2007, she opened The Cup in the Central West End. Sample their classic cupcakes like the Gold Rush, a golden yellow cake wrapped on top of chocolate buttercream and crowned with a golden chocolate nugget. They even have something for our vegan friends, check out their gluten-free & vegan cupcakes. The Snow White is highly recommended; it’s a vanilla cake on a vanilla buttercream. Other sweet treats that you can find in their shop are Chocolate Cakewich, Buttercream Frosting (One pint of The Cup’s Cakery Classic buttercream), Double Decker (two oatmeal chocolate chip cookies sandwiching vanilla buttercream).

Destination Desserts is a purpose-driven bakery; they’re a 501©(3) nonprofit organization. 100% of their proceeds go to support the nationally recognized Center for Head Injury Services. This is the brainchild of Chef Jennifer Brinson who employs both expert baking industry artisans and individuals who have struggled with a life-changing head injury or a cognitive learning issue, including autism.
