One of the oldest markets in Bangkok, this is a place worth visiting if you really and truly love what you eat. This market is very famous for local specialties –the rungrueang noodles (pork noodles) and grilled duckling being the most famous. Also, the Rattana Curry shop serves some of the best curries in all of Bangkok. This market is also the place to go if you want to try some delicious and local Thai desserts. If you want to have an authentic gastronomical experience, go to the Nan Leong Market.

Authentic with an old school charm, that is the best way to describe the Ratchawat Market. You will get to eat everything here, seafood, meats, vegetarian food, fresh fruit and Thai desserts. This is actually one of the best food markets in Bangkok for vegetarians! You have to try the Rad-Na-Mhoo, which is basically flat rice noodles with pork – it melts in your mouth. To have the best mango and sticky rice in Bangkok, go to the Wantana Khanom Thai stall in this market. And, a special mention for the Khanum Krok (Thai coconut pancake) which you have to try here.
