As the largest aviation museum in the republic and one of the largest in the continent, it spans four buildings. Established in 1968, there are 275 planes divided into a few sections, such as Czech built aircraft from World War One, various planes from World War Two like the Soviet-built Ilyushin Il-2 Shturmovik and Lavochkin La-7, Russian vintage, helicopters, and supersonic jet planes.
