The town of Jim Thorpe gets its name from Olympic gold medalist James Francis Thorpe, the first Native American to win in the Olympics. The town itself is a small borough that draws visitors from neighboring states such as New York and Philadelphia. Fun activities include whitewater rafting down the river rapids, or ziplining down the Pocono Mountains. You can also take a slower-paced holiday and enjoy some horseback riding, or visit the reptiles and butterflies of Bear Mountain Butterfly Sanctuary.
The geography of Jim Thorpe in addition to the fun outdoor activities that can be enjoyed here, makes it an excellent destination for a glamping holiday. So check out this list of the top glamping spots near Jim Thorpe, Pennsylvania.

Be one with nature in this safari-style canvas tent surrounded by woodlands and meadows. Even though a lot of basic amenities are available, it’s still recommended you bring along certain camping gear such as coolers for storing food and drinks, and lanterns or flashlights. The tent has a queen-size bed or a bunk bed, but you’ll also need to dress it with your own pillows and bedsheets.
You can relax with family and friends around the fire pit. Firewood is provided too. You can also use the firewood for the wood-fired stove in the tent. However, you’ll have to chop on your own when it runs out.

This spacious camp is located on a field that used to be the site of an Algonquin village. Now reclaimed by nature, the area is inhabited by local wildlife such as deer and foxes. There’s also a hiking trail that leads to a creek where you can fish if you have a license.
The tent has been set up on a raised wooden platform that also acts as a porch. In fact, with the availability of two Adirondack chairs, it provides the ideal spot to relish the greenery. If you’re camping with a big group, you can also rent a pop-up dome tent and set it up beside the canvas tent.

This beautiful glamping site is surrounded by woodlands and a large pond. The main tent is lavishly furnished, with a cozy queen-size bed dressed in matching bedding, as well as stylish indoor furniture and paraphernalia. The outhouse is well-maintained and also features an outdoor shower behind it. If you’re traveling with a big group, you can also rent a pop-up tent for them.
Although you can fish in the pond, you will have to release the fish afterward as they are not for consumption.
