The town of Jim Thorpe gets its name from Olympic gold medalist James Francis Thorpe, the first Native American to win in the Olympics. The town itself is a small borough that draws visitors from neighboring states such as New York and Philadelphia. Fun activities include whitewater rafting down the river rapids, or ziplining down the Pocono Mountains. You can also take a slower-paced holiday and enjoy some horseback riding, or visit the reptiles and butterflies of Bear Mountain Butterfly Sanctuary.

The geography of Jim Thorpe in addition to the fun outdoor activities that can be enjoyed here, makes it an excellent destination for a glamping holiday. So check out this list of the top glamping spots near Jim Thorpe, Pennsylvania.

We handpicked these listings carefully, considering (wherever possible) host status, recent guest reviews, prices, availability of dates, decor, and a location that facilitates glamping or is close to glamping spots. 2. Spacious camp surrounded by forests

This spacious camp is located on a field that used to be the site of an Algonquin village. Now reclaimed by nature, the area is inhabited by local wildlife such as deer and foxes. There’s also a hiking trail that leads to a creek where you can fish if you have a license.

The tent has been set up on a raised wooden platform that also acts as a porch. In fact, with the availability of two Adirondack chairs, it provides the ideal spot to relish the greenery. If you’re camping with a big group, you can also rent a pop-up dome tent and set it up beside the canvas tent.
