Introducing the Rihga Royal Hotel Osaka, located in Nakanoshima, just a short distance away from the heart of the popular Umeda tourism area. In operation since 1935, this well-renowned hotel has a long history and a sterling reputation owing to its affable service. It’s not somewhere you’d stay on a whim, especially if you spring for the suite room. However, for an anniversary or other special occasion, this hotel is the perfect place to splurge a bit and spend a luxurious, special night.

Even the lobby kindles guests’ excitement at the Rihga Osaka

The Rihga is located in Nakashima in Osaka City.

Nakashima Station is the closest train station to the hotel and lies on the recently opened Keihan Line running from Kyoto to Osaka. Guest arriving at Osaka Station can make use of the hotel’s free shuttle service. It leaves every six minutes, and travel time to the hotel is about ten minutes.

Arriving at the hotel and stepping inside reveals a world that’s anything but ordinary, especially during the Christmas season, when dazzling ornaments are on display. There’s much to love about this place before you even check in. If you’re staying in a suite, there is an entirely separate floor of the hotel where you’ll check in.

(Note: Guests of the Presidential Towers will also check in at this special floor)

Overflowing with luxury! The suite room will take your breath away

After check-in, the staff will show you to your room. The carpet in the hallway of the floor housing the suite rooms is thick, so much so that it may be difficult to make the journey in high heels.

Open the door to reveal a guest room replete with luxury. There’s a gorgeous chandelier, a large living room table complete with a well-wishing card for your anniversary, and a marble sink with a fresh flower bouquet. Fresh fruit has already been prepared and awaits in the refrigerator. You’ll definitely want to check in early to make the most of the experience.

Afternoon tea and aperitif in the executive lounge

After spending some time in the suite room, it’s time for tea. The charge for using the lounge is included in the room rate, so you can eat and drink as you please.

Small servings of cake and other baked goods are lined up, waiting for you to taste and compare. In terms of taste, these sweets may not rival the truly famous brands, but these hotel made deserts have a taste all their own and are sure to warm your heart.

Aperitif time begins at 5:00PM, at which time alcoholic drinks and snacks are prepared. Be sure not to eat or drink too much, but enjoy all that you can.

Dinner at restaurant Chambord, Rihga Osaka’s main dining establishment

If you’re staying in the suite room, you might as well complement your stay with French cuisine. At Restaurant Chambord, the hotel’s main venue, elementary school children and under are prohibited (unless in a private room), and men are required to wear suit jackets. If there are any fold lines or wrinkles in your formal wear, the hotel will press them for you free of charge.

At Restaurant Chambord, the time and effort put into the creation of the meal is revealed by the flavor in each dish. The desert cart comes last and you’ll likely be full, but eat to your heart’s content. If you reserved the anniversary package you may also receive a small gift and desert at the end of your meal.

You may be surprised at the wine prices if you’re eating here as part of your hotel package. The price of house wine is similar to that you might find at a bistro. Whether or not you choose to splurge on alcoholic beverages, dining at the Restaurant Chambord remains a magnificent experience.

Osaka’s best! Breakfast at the Rihga Royal Hotel is certain to satisfy

After spending an elegant night in the suite room, it’s time for breakfast.

The Righa’s regular breakfast buffet is renowned as top-class in Osaka, but the breakfast available in the executive lounge is yet another step up. Appetites run wild with egg-based dishes prepared right in front of you, fish eggs with maple syrup, and a variety of other western and Japanese dishes.

After breakfast you can take a nap, read in the library (adjacent to the lounge), and enjoy the remainder of your stay at the hotel until it’s time to check out.

A truly excellent stay

The Righa’s luxury is remarkable for a city hotel, but the suite rooms really take it to the next level!

Recently, there has been an increase in special deals available online, putting this level of hotel within the reach of many. Check around frequently to find something that suits you.

The Rihga is often referred to as the reception hall of the Kanto Region. The restaurant alone is worth getting excited about, but if you ever get the chance, it’s definitely worth staying a night.
