Gujarat Science City is divided into 11 sections – IMAX Theatre, Hall of Space, Hall of Science, Planet Earth, Energy Education Park, Life Science Park, Amphitheatre, Children’s Activity Centre, Musical Fountain, Electrodome, and Thrill Ride – that you can visit depending on your personal preference. Catching a 3D or 4D movie at the IMAX theatre and checking out various interesting science models in the Hall of Science are two of the most popular activities visitors usually go in for. Remember that timings and admission charges for each of these vary so check the official website for specific details.
Hitch the simulation rides
Science City has an entire section dedicated to simulation-centric thrill rides – fun with a blend of learning! There are some generic thrill rides, while some are centred around dinosaurs as well. Each of the ride sessions are about 20 minutes long and tickets for each are available on-site. If you’re heading with little children, don’t miss this!
Learn about kinetic energy and calisthenics while catching a fountain show
The musical fountain at Science City isn’t a mere thing of aesthetics, instead a fountain that combines the science behind water’s kinetic energy and the calisthenics of the human body, amplified by artful use of music, lights, and other effects. The fountain’s water jets are tuned to emulate a dancing human being, and with all effects coming together, make for a real sight to behold. The musical fountain shows are held every evening and can be witnessed by visitors for free!
Attend one of the events/exhibitions
Plenty of seasonal, daily, and weekly events are held at Gujarat Science City – vocational training programs, olympiads, live experiments, and other enrichment programs. By bus
You can hitch a public bus to reach Gujarat Science City. Regardless of which bus you hop into, depending on your location, you’ll need to get off at Science City bus stop. It will be walking distance to your destination.
By three-wheeler/Cab
You can also hire a local taxi or an auto-rickshaw (three-wheeler). These are easily available along all the main roads in the city. Otherwise, you also have an option of hiring cabs provided by service providers, such as Ola and Uber. All you need to do is download their app(s) and go touring away!
