The Missouri Athletic Club opened in 1903 in the Boatman’s Bank Building in time for the 1904 Summer Olympics hosted by St. Louis, Missouri. Dignitaries attending the global sporting event stayed at the newly opened facility. In a sad turn of events, a 1914 fire gutted the original building.
