A relaxing retreat amidst nature awaits you at Timberlake Campground & RV. This camping destination is one of the best in the Southeast as it offers many recreational activities, including fishing, hiking, and kayaking. Plus, there are many nearby places of attraction as well as restaurants.
Located away from the noises of the city, the campground features RV sites with full service, water, and electricity supply. Tent sites are available as well if you want to experience traditional camping. Aside from these, you can also access Timberlake’s recreation building comprising a TV room, playground, swimming pool, and outdoor tennis courts. The best time to visit the campground is between the beginning of May and the beginning of November. The place also allows pets, but there are certain regulations that need to be followed.

2. Wyeth Campground

Wyeth Campground is where you’ll want to be if you’re dreaming of a time away from the noisy city. It features 13 individual sites as well as 3 group sites and is surrounded by maple trees. It’s a popular camping spot, so make sure to book ahead of time. With its location in the central Columbia River Gorge, many outdoor activities are within your reach, including hiking the Gorge Trail and visiting waterfalls.
One thing to take note of is that only small trailers and RVs are welcome within the premise. Although hookups are unavailable, there’s uncontaminated water available on site. You’ll also have access to flush toilets. The camp is open to campers from May 1 to September 30.

3. Cascade Locks / Portland East KOA

4. Ainsworth State Park Campground

Located in the Columbia River Gorge, Ainsworth State Park is famed for being a great destination for avid hikers and home to mystic waterfalls. It features 40 full-hookup sites, with 1 of them accessible to campers with disabilities. Additionally, there are six walk-in tent sites with parking spaces, a biker camp area, and flush toilets. You can also use the park’s picnic tables and restroom and buy firewood that’s available for sale. Enjoy scenic hikes on the Gorge 400 Trail.
Moreover, if you’re bringing kids with you, they can take advantage of the camp’s playground and have fun as well. The park is open from mid-March to the end of October, so if you’re thinking of camping here, you can choose a time in between.

5. Viento State Park Campground

Viento State Park Campground offers campers a terrific camping experience in Oregon. It houses large campsites that are well-shaded to provide a cozy experience. 56 of them include electricity and water supply, while 18 are tent sites with water nearby. Plus, two campsites are specially designed for campers with disabilities. Moreover, hot showers and flush toilets are available to campers.

With easy access to most attractions of River Gorge, it’s no wonder that lots of travelers choose to set camp in Gorge Base Camp. With its central position in Columbia River Gorge, it offers access to watersports, biking, and hiking. Wineries, brewpubs, and eateries are also nearby.

If you’re looking for the perfect destination for camping that offers multiple sites, look no further. Tucker Park Campground, nestled on Hood River, offers sites that welcome overnight camping. It also features sites that accommodate small campers and single tents. You can enjoy yourself with your camping buddies in the cozy picnic area. Also, each site can only hold one tent, one RV, or one vehicle with a trailer along with an additional non-sleeping vehicle. Make sure that your trailer is not more than 30 feet (9 meters) in length.
Although sewer hook-ups are not available, there is a potable water supply and coin-operated showers for campers’ use. The best part? You can even bring your four-legged buddies along, provided you keep them on a leash. Make sure to visit this campground between the months of May and October.

10. Moss Creek Campground

Most Creek Campground is a haven for fishing enthusiasts as it is nestled along Little White Salmon River. It also makes an excellent spot for tent camping and RV camping. There are a number of single sites in the campground for traditional camping and 16 sites for smaller camp trailers. Trailers should not be longer than 32 feet (10 meters).
Some of the recreational activities you can enjoy while in the campground include hiking and nature viewing. Picnics and bonfires are also possible. This campground is wheelchair accessible. You may also bring your pets along. You can camp here between the months of August and June.
