The Maldives, or the Republic of Maldives, are multiple islands spread closely throughout the Indian Ocean. There are 26 atolls, islands composed of coral reefs, that make up this extremely popular vacation destination. The capital of the Republic of Maldives is Malé, and is a terrific area to stay in with many shops, the popular fish market, along with many restaurants and cafes that overlook the sea.
However, with so many hotels to choose from, it can be tough deciding the perfect place for you. With that said, let’s take a look at the Hotel Jen in Malé - the newest hotel to join the Shangri-La Group - whose staff members and management team will make you feel right at home! There are also a multitude of amenities offered that will ensure your stay in the Maldives is one that will never be forgotten.
We handpicked these listings carefully, considering (wherever possible) recent guest reviews, location, accommodation type, prices, availability of dates, decor, and access to views. The image galleries get refreshed with the latest updates regularly. They were last updated on {{date}}.

A private ferry to the hotel

When you land at Hulhumale Airport, a staff member will be eagerly awaiting your arrival to take you by ferry to the hotel. It’s an absolutely gorgeous ride over to the island of Malé, and once you’ve entered the hotel, you’ll instantly notice the clean, artistic look and ambiance, especially the ceiling, which is a rather hypnotic grey and golden swirl.
Check-in begins at 2pm, and if you’ve arrived fairly early there is a lovely lounge area off to the sides of the reception desk where you can relax and plan your itinerary. The hotel does offer express check-in if you know you’ll be getting there prior to 2pm, just make sure to call in advance to the hotel. The staff members are incredibly friendly, and will even set you up with a complimentary guided walking tour of Malé! This is something you definitely do not want to forget to ask about!
Comfortable rooms with everything you need

There are numerous rooms for you to choose from: the Deluxe Room, the Deluxe Ocean View Room, the Executive Room, and the Deluxe Suite. The price to stay in paradise is affordable, and starts around 250 USD per night. The rooms are immaculate, and the dark wooden furniture pairs well with the cream colored decor in the room. The floors are tiled, and there is a nice accent carpet neatly placed underneath the bed, making the room feel cozy and warm.
There is a separate seating area where you can look out the window at the beautiful stretch of the ocean down below. There is also a desk that is perfect for jotting down your travel plans, or attending to any business you may have. The rooms are relatively quiet and you’ll easily be able to concentrate on your work or project. There is also a Nespresso machine in the room that has already been filled with coffee and water, allowing you to enjoy a morning cappuccino or an after dinner espresso any time throughout the day!
The bedding is hypo-allergenic, making it perfect for those with sensitive skin, and is incredibly comfortable ensuring that you are well rested for the day ahead tomorrow! If you plan on sleeping in, or perhaps want to enjoy an afternoon nap, the curtains on the window do a wonderful job of blocking out the sun.
Your room has a private restroom, and the bathrobe and slippers are comfortable and very soft against your skin. The toiletries that are provided by Hotel Jen are extremely high quality, and you receive a toothbrush, toothpaste, shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, lotions, hand soap, a shower cap, and even a hair-tie to hold your hair back. For those who are sensitive to certain smells, you can rest assured that these shampoos and soaps are not overpowering.
A variety of delicious food and drinks

After you have settled in, and perhaps worked up an appetite, you’ll find there are two restaurants to choose from. Azur is located on the roof, and offers incredible views of the surrounding islands. It is open from 9am until midnight and serves up some delicious Western and Japanese fusion dishes. I highly recommend that you try the sushi as it is extremely fresh and full of flavor.
The mocktails are amazing, and just perfect for lounging by the open-air, rooftop pool next to the restaurant. Lime Restaurant is located on the first floor, and is open from 6am until 11pm. Here you will enjoy a delectable breakfast buffet spread that is available for a surcharge of 27 USD per person. You have a variety of options to choose from, such as fresh fruits, pastries, meats and cheese, eggs, cereals, yogurt, coffee, tea, and even coconut water.
If you stop by for lunch or dinner, the Lime Restaurant also features live cooking stations and daily themed buffets like Thai, Chinese, Indian, traditional Maldivian, and International fare.
Enjoy the outstanding spa services

If you prefer to stay at the Hotel Jen to spend some time relaxing, the Aristo Spa is amazing, and offers great massages, ayurvedic treatments, body wraps, facials, aromatherapy, and packages for couples. The massages are wonderful, and will free your muscles from any tension or stress they have been holding on to. The Aristo Spa also offers hair treatments, such as color services, or a simple shampoo and blow dry. Men and women will both love being pampered with a luxurious facial or manicure and pedicure.
Visit the nearby attractions
During the day, you are surrounded with nearby attractions that feature the Medhu Ziyaaraiy Shrine, the tomb of Abul Barakat Yusuf Al-Barbari, who was a religious scholar from Morocco, and introduced Islam to the Maldives in 1153 AD! There is a beach just 5 to 10 minutes away by foot where you can sit on the warm sand, or cool off with a dip in the crystal clear waters.
Staying at Hotel Jen in Malé is like staying in your own mini-paradise, with outstanding services, and high-quality amenities. This hotel is the perfect place for those traveling with their families or their loved one, as well as business professionals. When you are ready to make your way back home, the Hotel Jen in Malé will be glad to arrange your transport back to the airport.
