Are you wondering where to stay to see the Matterhorn? If so, consider staying at Hotel Metropol & Spa Zermatt. This hotel and spa combo offer a friendly and relaxing atmosphere from which to enjoy your views over the Matterhorn. This family-owned hotel offers comfortable, simple rooms with varying views over the Matterhorn. The best choices are the Superior Double Room, a south-facing location with excellent Matterhorn views, and the Junior Suite, which has views from the balcony.

Hotel Metropol & Spa Zermatt is just a minute-long drive from the Matterhorn. If you only have one day during your winter visit to the country, I recommend a 3/4 hour helicopter ride at an altitude of 4,400 through the Alps to the symbol of Switzerland, the Matterhorn. You can even stop at an altitude of 3,800 for a picnic.

Since this hotel was developed in 2016, it is obviously in excellent condition and boasts a sun terrace, spa, and bar. The bedrooms are simply decorated with a few surprising fun features to go alongside the pale wooden furnishing.
There are 38 rooms, not all of which offer Matterhorn views, so be sure to check the full details online before you book. We recommend getting a Matterhorn view room with a balcony so that you can enjoy it to its fullest.

Are you looking for a place to stay near the Matterhorn? If that’s the case, Grand Hotel Zermatterhof is your best bet. This traditional property dates back to 1879 and offers a luxurious resort including three restaurants, spa facilities, and, this time, a white horse-drawn carriage.
The bedrooms are decorated in neutral white and beige colours with original wooden beams and features which make a sophisticated and elegant ambience. Unspoiled views of the Matterhorn are best enjoyed from the double rooms, Junior Suite, and Chalet Suite.

Nestled on top of a rock, 148 feet (45 metres) above the roofs of central Zermatt, the best view of Matterhorn from this hotel has to be, in our opinion, from the outdoor hot tub. None of the rooms are identical and so they vary in terms of size; some even have a private balcony.
The best private view is from the Matterhorn Suite but there are plenty of lower-priced options available. It is worth noting that there is a minimum stay at the hotel.
