As a city, San Francisco is quite vast and diverse–because of this you will find amazing eateries in every corner. And Japanese cuisine or sushi is no exception to this. With that said, it can get tricky to find a great Japanese restaurant in town that doesn’t serve just any other raw fish. And false advertisements of delicious-looking eateries will lead you to a restaurant that serves the fusion of Japanese food with overused mayo, instead of omakase, nigiri, sashimi, or sushi that can be found in authentic restaurants. If you like the sound of the latter, let this list be your guide to the best Japanese restaurants in San Francisco, California.

No matter how long one has to wait to devour in the finest food, the outcome of the wait is out-of-this-world.
