Are you in East Java for business, study or holiday? Whatever your reason is, there are many attractions awaiting to be explored. Among many of the attractions, Lamongan Marine Tourism (known as Wisata Bahari Lamongan or WBL) is a good choice, as it has many exciting things to offer, especially for the young and adventurous souls who like to have adrenaline pumping rides and see eerie attractions.

WBL is a theme park by the ocean

 WBL at Tanjung Kodok beach

Being the only marine tourism operator in the Northern coast of East Java province, WBL is located at a beach known as Tanjung Kodok (Frog Cape beach), which has a total land area of 11 hectares. This theme park presents a one-stop-service concept that includes many kinds of marine theme amusement rides.

Roller coaster ride with the view of Java sea

Roller coaster by the sea

One of the must-try rides is the roller coaster. There are many roller coaster rides in the world, but how many are built by the ocean? There may not be many, or perhaps this is the only one. During the 500-meter long coaster ride, be ready to zoom for 50 km per hour as the coaster will make sharp dives from 5-km-per-hour to 50-km-per-hour acceleration in less than one second . At that scary moment, you may want to close your eyes but those who manage to open their eyes during the ride will be rewarded with the panoramic view of Java sea, as you zoom high and low during the ride!

Meet the pirates of Caribbean

Pirate palace at WBL

Are you familiar with the legend of Captain Henry Morgan? Known as the Pirate of the Caribbean, he was a Welsh who fought for the Kingdom of England against the Spanish colonial rule over the South America continent several centuries ago. Well, you may have known the legend from some comic books or movies, but the pirates’ house reenacts the story through interactive replicas. Be prepared to meet this most feared pirate in the world, his crew members and his prisoners! These “people” are not as evil as you may think, as they are very happy to have a photo session with you!

Spooky trick art photo opportunities await!

A ghostly photo session in the Ghost Hospital

Do you want to have a fun and ghostly experience? Fun? Well, there is one scary moment, as you will need to walk pass a mortuary with bloody zombies moving within WBL’s Ghost Hospital. As there are many ghost animations and games in there, spend some time for interactive and ghostly photo sessions!

Useful information on WBL

WBL's entrance

WBL opens daily at 8.30am to 4.30pm, with value-for-money ticket price starting from 60,000 IDR (4.60 USD). Weekend rates will be slightly higher. As WBL is located in a coastal area, which is hot and humid, the number of visitors will affect your comfort during your visit. During peak seasons such as Moslem’s Ramadhan and school holiday (July to August), and Christmas, the place is crowded with tourists and you might have to queue for a longer time for a ride or an attraction in the outdoors. Therefore, you may want to consider avoiding a visit during the weekends if it falls in one of the holiday seasons.

Where exactly is Wisata Bahari Lamongan (WBL)?

Wisata Bahari Lamongan (WBL) is located in Paciran, a sub district of Lamongan city and it takes two hours to get there from East Java’s capital city of Surabaya. There are many tour agencies that offer tour packages to the area. The packages usually include WBL, and its surrounding attractions such as Maharani zoo and Tanjung Kodok beach. It is best to buy a tour package, as your travel and accommodation needs are covered. It’s very convenient to go there, isn’t it? Make sure you don’t miss this theme park during your East Java visit!
