Welcome to Lapland, where houses are built around saunas! Lapland is an arctic region where freezing temperatures often hit below zero, therefore saunas are essential to keep everyone warm. But besides saunas, Finland’s winter wonderland is also the home of Santa Claus. He hails from Korvantunturi Fell which is also called Ear Fell due to its similarity to the shape of an elf’s ear. You can send your letters and meet Santa in his official hometown, Rovaniemi. Situated close to Arctic Circle, you have a chance to see Aurora Borealis or Midnight Sun if you visit at the right time. If you want something that is more than a ski holiday, you can come to Lapland and try out new experiences. Plus, you can opt to stay in yurts for an even more exciting holiday. Scroll down to see the best yurts in Lapland, Finland.
