Lido Key is a stunning island in Sarasota Bay and a popular beach destination. Lido Beach, with a spectacular stretch of white sand and picnic areas, is its most popular attraction. A perfect spot to watch the sunset, the beach offers spots to launch your kayaks and canoes, and for surfing. North Lido Beach Park is more secluded, though services are limited at the beach. Ted Sperling Park & South Lido Beach preserves much of the natural beauty of the island, and it is the perfect spot to get away from the urban chaos and enjoy a swim with nature in the background.

St. Armand’s Circle offers plenty of top-notch seafood eateries, and you shouldn’t miss the oyster-tasting plate available at Crab & Fin, allowing you to savor six different kinds of oysters. Shore is another popular option, and if I were you, I’d certainly try out their lobster, shrimp, and crab Cobb salad.

Summers (June - August) are glorious all across Florida, and Lido Key is no different. However, although it’s sunny as it can get, temperatures frequently reach highs of 92°F (33.3°C). If you want to avoid the heat, it would be best to visit between late October and late April.

Lido Beach Resort is a lovely beachfront accommodation, just a minute’s walk from Lido Beach. This popular resort is close to the airport, making it suitable for guests flying in and out of the city.

The coastal resort boasts two outdoor pools and a private beach area. Rent a beach cabana or lounge on beach chairs to relax. Alternatively, you can play a game of beach volleyball or enjoy snorkeling or surfing! For a surcharge, guests can avail of the cooked-to-order breakfast available here, though I would prefer to start my day at the Beach Market Cafe. Dogs are welcome to stay here!

The property’s not too far from eateries, and if I ever come down here, I’d probably get breakfast at the nearby Gulf Drive Cafe. Can’t beat a good cup of coffee by the beach!
