There are plenty of luxury resorts in Utah, most of them within an hour’s drive of Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC) and fairly easy to get to. The most popular resorts are centered around the Park City and Deer Valley area, which are the best-known ski destinations in the winters and attract thousands of skiers every year. However, Utah is spectacular even in the in the offseason because of its extraordinary national parks, whether it is the photogenic hoodoos of Bryce Canyon or hiking to the sandstone arches of Arches National Park. If you’re looking for world-class slopes without the crowds, you could make a short drive to the Ogden Valley, which is home to the Snowbasin - the venue for the 2002 Olympic alpine skiing events - the Nordic Valley, which is great family-friendly skiing spot or Powder Mountain and Whisper Ridge.
