In Central Jakarta district, what can be a better option than staying in a decent hotel close to a toll road entrance, and adjacent to one of the most visited shopping malls in Jakarta, with an array of food stalls in the mall? Novotel Mangga Dua Hotel is one of the best options to choose from in the district.
We handpicked these listings carefully, considering (wherever possible) recent guest reviews, location, accommodation type, prices, availability of dates, decor, and access to pool. The image galleries get refreshed with the latest updates regularly. They were last updated on {{date}}.

Strategic location

Jakarta is notoriously known for its horrendous traffic. During rush hours, most of the time your taxi won’t be able to run more than 20 km (12 miles) per hour in most areas of Jakarta. For this reason, it can take you much longer to get to one destination through downtown Jakarta, and traveling through toll roads can save a lot of your valuable time. Novotel Mangga Dua is a very good choice of hotels, as it is located less than 10 kilometers (6 miles) away from a toll road entrance (the toll road is called ‘tol Jagorawi’). Here you will have easy access to Jakarta’s airport (30 minutes away), and other destinations in the vast Jabotabek area, such as Jabotabek: the city of Jakarta, Bogor, Tangerang, and Bekasi, which belong to the Jakarta special administrative region. It’s also very easy to get a taxi as they are always available at the hotel entrance 24 hours a day.
Located on the top floor of Mangga Dua Square Mall

Due to the bad traffic, convenience is the biggest issue when choosing a hotel in Jakarta. Novotel is located at the top floor of Mangga Dua Square Mall, known as Jakarta’s shopping haven for fashion and electronics. You can simply walk through the mall to buy fashion and electronics at cheaper prices, shop for your groceries at a hypermarket named Carrefour, and find many kinds of local, as well as continental foods, in its food court.
Rooms and rates

The rates start from 69 USD for a superior room, to 105 USD for a suite (larger room with a living area), with choices of a pool, park, or city view. All rooms have cozy impressions due to the nice combinations of wooden-styled floors, wooden furniture, and dark curtains, which you can also find in any other Novotel Hotel elsewhere in the world.
Having breakfast at Square Restaurant

Room rates, other than the suites, don’t include breakfast. Unless you want to wait till 10am before the food court, in the mall below, is open for business. You may want to have the all-you-can-eat breakfast at the hotel’s restaurant (Square Restaurant) for 7.50 USD per person. However, while focusing more on Asian dishes, like Chinese and Indonesian, the restaurant also has many choices of light Western cuisine such as pancakes, waffles, and croissants with all kinds of toppings, like jams, honey, and syrup. For local food, don’t miss ‘sop buntut bakar’ (barbecued oxtail soup). The beef broth is thick, and the tail is meaty, sweet, and a bit crispy. Everything here is delicious, so you may gain a little weight after walking out of here!

Enjoy underwater music in the swimming pool

One interesting thing about the hotel is the swimming pool; located on the hotel’s 5th floor. Stretching more than 40 meters (12 feet) long, which is much bigger than the one at most other hotels. However, it’s not the size that has become the highlight of the pool, it’s the classical music played underwater, which can only be heard by those swimming in the adult pool. Imagine listening to Mozart while swimming! Isn’t it a great way to work out, and for relaxation? Where else in the world can you find this amenity?
Great hotel personnel
Other amenities include free entrance to the gym, and laundry (0.60 USD per piece, returned on the same day). However, aside from those facilities, I think this hotel wouldn’t be the same without the hospitable hotel staff. They always greet you and try to call you by name, which they may have learned from the booking period. So, do you want to experience all of these conveniences while in Jakarta? If so, be sure you stay at Novotel Mangga Dua Hotel!
