The city of Miami sits in the southern part of the state of Florida. It’s one of America’s major cities, with one of the nation’s tallest skylines. Miami is a major hub for international tourists, coming in second just after New York City. So what does Miami have to offer its visitors? Well, there’s a little something for everyone. Are you a culture buff? A stop at the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts is a good idea. There you can catch an opera, ballet, or concert. If you like art, head to the Frost Art Museum. And a tour of the city’s culinary options is a must, as it reflects Miami’s diversity. The Versailles Restaurant is located in Little Havana and is a Miami institution—the perfect place to enjoy a Cuban meal. And of course, with its tropical weather and spot on the Atlantic, Miami offers plenty of beaches and water-based activities. And if you’re a music lover, then you’re in luck, because we’ve put together some of the best piano bars that Miami has to offer. So keep on reading to check out the options.

1. Christy's Restaurant

Posted by Christy's Restaurant on Wednesday, 12 January 2011

We’ll start our list off with Christy’s Restaurant, a steak house that’s been a staple in Miami for more than 40 years. With its red walls, wood bar, and soft lighting, it certainly gives a fine dining impression. Diners can enjoy braised short rib, herb crusted sea bass, and of course steak. We definitely recommend saving room for dessert and indulging in the baked Alaska for two. It’s got excellent reviews, with visitors raving about the food as well as the old school, upscale ambiance. And of course, you’ll want to catch the music coming from the piano bar. Make sure your reservation is for a Friday evening, and you’ll hear jazz music playing while you dine. It’s the perfect spot to visit if you’re celebrating something special, or simply want to check out a Miami landmark.

Miami Tour Guide

Alexander Gorn

Alexander Gorn

I was born in Leningrad, now St. Petersburg, in the Soviet Union, and left for the USA when I was 23 years old, just out of college. Leningrad was and still is a city with great cultural traditions. I fell in love with its world-famous museums, art galleries, theaters, and other attractions. I have been guiding tours for most of my life and began while still in high school. During the summer, Leningrad was visited by numerous youth groups from the UK and USA and English-speaking students were recruited to show them around. That is how I got my first taste of being a tour guide. I continued guiding through college and often worked with young adults. After leaving the USSR, I settled in New York City, went to graduate school, and started my own travel company in 1985. We primarily worked with international visitors showing them famous places of interest all over the country, from coast to coast. Though I had other tour guides working at my company, I continued to guide because it was rewarding and enjoyable. I traveled extensively throughout the country and that's how I first became acquainted with South Florida. I instantly fell in love with this beautiful place and eventually moved to the Miami Beach area. I love South Florida and want my tourists to feel the same way. I am exhilarated by its nature and history and I promise to get you excited as well. See you in Miami!

5. Café Catula

Café Catula serves up a fusion of Spanish and Italian food, delighting its diners with dishes like an enchilada stuffed with seafood and ravioli di Miami, which features ravioli stuffed with pork and plantains. They’ve also got an excellent dessert menu, so we recommend saving room for something sweet. While you dine, take in the restaurant’s ambiance, which features sculptures and paintings that are for sale. In addition to viewing art, you can listen to art as well. Most nights of the week, musicians play live music on the piano. With its unique fusion menu and artworks on display, this piano bar certainly makes for a fun night out.
