Previously listed as among one of the top emerging US travel destinations, Eureka in Northern California is a historic Victorian seasport which has plenty to offer all visitors. There are a plethora of accommodation options and so we’ve written out our top 12 to help you choose the perfect rental or hotel for your holiday. Let’s get started….
1. Cozy Apartment with Fireplace, Garden and Redwoods
This quirky one bedroom apartment has its own secret garden with deck and views over the majestic Redwood forest. This apartment is perfect for those of you who want to feel kept away from the main streets of Eureka but still stay within walking distance to all the amenities that central Eureka has to offer. The bedroom has a queen bed and is neutrally decorate, perfect for couples, or if there are more in your group you could utilize the sofa bed in the lounge area.
2. Bay Breeze on the Bay in Old Town (from 113 USD)
This whole apartment in the Old Town of Eureka is perfect for a family holiday. It offers 2 bedrooms, which are both decorated in neutral calming colours, a fully equipped kitchen and a modern living area with a flat screen TV. 3. sqft House (from USD 700)
This historic house is nearly 100 years old, not that you can tell with the beautiful attention to detail that the host has given to the property. The property is set within 2 acres (0.80 hectares) of wild global trees which were planted by the original owner who was a lumber baron. The dedication to wood continues with the original Redwood window frames and built in cabinets, both of which offer a sense of homeliness to the property. In total there are 5 bedrooms in the house and so would be best suited to a larger group or family who are looking for a spacious holiday rental. If you are a smaller group you can also rent out just part of the property which also offers a games/bar room in with some of the pricings.
4. Tiny House Lives Large In Arcata (from 110 USD)
Just a short 8 minute drive from central Eureka is Arcata, where you can find this fantastic garden cottage. The space is compact but functional, with a double sized bed, kitchenette, and garden. The highlight for us is the burgeoning vegetable patch in the garden and that the house has wifi throughout.
