Museum galleries

Pushpa Gujral Science City has a number of galleries that cover many different kinds of science. In the space and aviation gallery, learn about the exploration of the sky and solar system and the celestial bodies out in space. You can even see an airplane model made by the Wright Brothers. Another gallery that teaches visitors all about another mode of transportation is the railway gallery, where you can get an inside peek at how the extensive railway system in India operates. There are also several galleries focused on the life sciences, like the living machine gallery, all about how the human body works, and the biotechnology gallery, which gives insight into a fascinating branch of contemporary scientific research. The galleries offer some fun experiences, too. Head over to the virtual reality gallery to insert yourself into this immersive technology. In the Ames Room, play around with optical illusions and take a cool picture where you and your friends will look different sizes. The list of exciting things to explore in the galleries goes on and on, and they are a great place to learn and have fun doing it.

Theaters

The museum also has several theaters which demonstrate science in an entertaining and informative way. At the space theater, watch films on a huge, curved screen that is 23 meters (75 feet) tall. The screen and sounds surround you, creating an immersive experience. Another immersive performance is at the digital planetarium, where you lie back and watch images of the universe on the domed screen above. One of the most educational options is a show at the climate change theater. Here you can watch a 25-minute long informative video about the climate crisis, and learn how to help.

Simulators

Pushpa Gujral Science City offers two different simulators–a flight simulator and an earthquake simulator. Both are thrilling experiences you won’t soon forget. Head inside of a plane for the flight simulator. For three-and-a-half minutes, you’ll feel as if you’re swooping and soaring through space. The other simulator will make you feel what it’s like to experience a 6.5 magnitude quake as you move and shake sideways and vertically. A screen depiction of an earthquake will help you feel as if you’re actually there.

Parks and gardens

The extensive offerings of Pushpa Gujral Science Center aren’t just limited to the inside of the museum. Step outside to explore two parks and the beautiful gardens during your visit. Dinosaurs Park is full of life-sized replicas of these terrifying ancient creatures alongside explanations about their lives and extinction. At the Energy Park, take a look at the interesting models and exhibits that teach about renewable energy. Some of them are even interactive, so don’t be too shy to get involved. The gardens are probably the most relaxing and beautiful part of the Science City, with dozens of flowers and plants creating a tranquil setting. It’s not just there for looks, though - the gardens have more than 168 plant species from 58 different families, showcasing the diversity of nature.
