If there’s one place you have to pick for a fun weekend getaway in Gurgaon, let it be Appu Ghar. It is a beach-themed water park that boasts over 10 water rides, banquet facilities, and several restaurants and food courts. The park was opened to the public in 2014 and was named after a Delhi amusement park of the same name that permanently closed in 2008. Some say that one the best rides here is Sky Fall which is a 96-ft (29-m) free-fall drop.

6. The Heritage Transport Museum

The Heritage Transport Museum is about 35 km (21.7 miles) away from Gurgaon and it is India’s first transport museum. It was inspired by similar places in London and Los Angeles and promises to attract everyone, not only those interested in automobiles, but the common man! The museum is spread over a vast area of 90,000 square feet (8361.3 square meters) and you can find a huge collection of cars, both pre-modern and modern, including palanquins, bullock carts, howdahs, and boats.

People love the rural Indian vehicles and vintage Indian scotters here, as well as the restored railway saloon, from the 1930s. A good collection of photos that showcase art on the theme of transportation, toys, maritime and aviation history, along with old stamps, photographs and advertisements.

8. Sultanpur Bird Sanctuary

Sultanpur Bird Sanctuary is a very famous weekend place and is named as a National Park by the Haryana Government. This bird sanctuary is ideal for bird watchers and the best time to visit is during the winter, when a large number of migratory birds, stop here. Approximately 250 species of birds are found at this sanctuary, including the paddyfield pipit, Eurasian Thick-knee, red-wattled lapwing, the weaver bird and much, much more. You can visit the sanctuary for a picnic and also find restaurants and some hotels with hot tubs nearby.
