2. Hummingbird Cottage (from USD 110)

If you want to leave the city behind and escape into nature, then this is one of the best places near Colorado Springs. The cottage is 0.5 mi (0.8 km) from the main road and surrounded by pine trees that are over a century old. All you are bound to hear over here are the rustling of leaves and your own footsteps.

The cottage dates back to 1919 and was the first property to be built on the ranch. But don’t worry because the interiors have been regularly updated to offer a comfortable stay. Since this is a single-level house, it will be an excellent choice for families with children above the age of two who want to explore. Turkeys and cattle can be found here as well. Indoors, the cottage is centrally air conditioned and includes heating, making it a perfect hideout any time of the year.

Hummingbird Cottage does not discriminate against guests and welcomes LGBTQIA travelers.

4. Mansion on the edge of a forest

When you think of staying on a ranch or a working farm, you think rustic and basic. But this mansion spread over more than 5,000 sq. ft. (464.52 sq m) is breaking all the norms of what constitutes a farm stay. The property will allow guests to disconnect because of the fluctuating Wi-Fi speed, but you can play table tennis, foosball, or air hockey instead.

If you would like to go horseback riding, you can arrange for it directly with the host. You can bring your own horses for a small fee too. Additionally, the mansion is part of a 40-ac (16.19-ha) parcel of land, and the host can be requested to allow walks in the forest.

The rental also generates most of the electricity it uses from solar panels and includes an electric vehicle charging port for fellow eco-warriors. However, guests will have to bring their own cables.
