Awashima Hotel is named after the small Awashima Island located cozily in one of the inlets of Suruga Bay. The island has a circumference of 2.5 kilometers and an area of 50 000 square meters. Its highest mountain is 137-meter tall. Although the island is part of Shizuoka prefecture’s Numazu city, there are no inhabitants living there!

You can reach the hotel by a special boat. The pier is just next to the hotel’s parking and the entire trip takes 3 minutes.

Awashima Hotel is painted in shell pink color which reminds you of the Mediterranean views. Kids younger than 12 years cannot stay here, so this place is targeted towards adult guests. You’ll be impressed by the luxury the minute you get off the boat! You’ve entered a totally different world that you will enjoy! Let me introduce you the brilliance of Awashima Hotel.

Relax in Awashima’s hot spring

Check in, take a short rest in your room and go straight to the hot spring. The water in Awashima’s natural hot spring comes from 1000 meters under the ground. This is the only hot spring source in Numazu city. There is a large indoor bath with a big window which allows you to enjoy the view outside. However, there’s also an open-air pool built right next to the shore. Two special open-air pools, one of which has a hot tub, are open for girls only. The hot tub one uses salt water bubbles made of Italian rock salt. This is very good for the skin and girls love it. The pool is a bit salty, but pleasant to stay in. And how great it is to listen to the sea waves while you’re soaking in a hot spring! Here you can relax completely and have a wonderful time. On clear days you can even see Mt Fuji at the opposite side of Suruga Bay.

The brilliant view from the balcony

After enjoying the hot spring, return back to your room. Awashima Hotel has only wide suite rooms designed in white and with a balcony. The hot tub is ready to use in just 80 seconds. The water used comes from Kakida River, a well-known good-quality water source. It’s delivered to the island via an undersea pipe and this allows you to drink fresh underground water from Mt Fuji. You can also enjoy a bath in this water which is rich in minerals.

The room’s balcony is the ideal place to cool down your hot body after a bath. The panorama view to the ocean is brilliant and the sea breeze feels pleasant. All rooms have an ocean view. The balconies are designed in such a way so that you don’t see your neighbors and spend some private time. There is a table with chairs and you can relax simply watching the sea or reading a book.

In the evening you can see the starry sky from the balcony. There are few street lights at the island and almost no car noises, so you can watch the stars in silence. All you’ll hear will be the relaxing sea waves.

The exhibition is free of charge, but the items are originals so don’t touch them or the alarm will be set off. Relax and spend an elegant time appreciating the art in this gallery.
