Are you one of those tourists who are attracted to exotic Kuta in Bali and planning to go there? If you have been told by someone that a decent hotel stay in Kuta is detrimental to your wallet, tell him that he is wrong! Your friend, like many other international tourists, knows there are budget hotels in Kuta but thinks all budget hotels there are not worth staying. Let your friend read this article and he will change his thought!

Combining art, convenience & affordability

Restu hotel, front desk

Restu hotel (it means “approval hotel” in English) is where art, convenience and affordability are bundled in an attractive package for discerning travelers. What do I mean by that? In my country, no one will expect such facilities for a budget hotel under 30 USD (if there is any)! Well, in Bali, there is and Restu hotel is one of the best budget hotels in Bali. For 350,000 IDR (28 USD for a double-bed room) to 600,000 IDR (47 USD for a deluxe room), you can enjoy a more than decent hotel stay in the heart of Kuta.

Be greeted by beautiful artwork upon your arrival

Balinese statues of a meditating man and woman, Restu Hotel

Almost everything in the hotel front looks so artistic. When you enter the hotel, you will realize that things here are designed to look artistic. Look at the wooden roof and pillar, brick wall and vegetation at the front desk area. They are so Balinese, aren’t they? The hotel staffs are very friendly, but it’s not only the staffs who will welcome you. You will also be welcomed by some exotic Balinese statues here and there in the front desk area. (You may take as many pictures of these statues as you like).

Non-air-conditioned lobby, but it looks really Dutch!

Restu hotel, lobby

Now let’s have a look at the hotel’s lobby. Does it look like a Dutch house in the old times? The sofas, chairs, curtain, tiles, doors and everything else look very Dutch, except for the wooden sofa’s tops that were crafted in Balinese style. The lobby is not air conditioned, but it is comfortable enough to hang out in one of the sofas during morning or night time. The lobby is fronted by a huge and wide entrance that somewhat resembles a partial gazebo, meaning that you shall be able to enjoy the fresh outdoor air and occasional breeze.

More than just a decent hotel room

Clean, modern, artistic bedroom

The hotel front and the lobby are very artistic, what about the bedrooms? Bedrooms have more modern touches, with a realistic painting of Balinese scene on the wall in each room.

For 28 USD per room, spend your night(s) in a spacious, clean and neat air-conditioned bedroom and watch international channels from a 32-inch LED TV. Isn’t it a good deal for 28 USD? If you don’t think so, there is one more thing you can enjoy.

Enjoy a pool view from the bedroom or go for a swim!

Swimming pool at Restu hotel

You will find a glass window that allows you to see some vegetations and swimming pool from inside the room. Wow, 28 USD for a pool view bedroom? What a luxury! You can also go swimming during your stay.

28 USD includes breakfast for two!

Hey, the price includes breakfast for two? Cool! Look at the artistic design. Not only the lobby and front desk areas are so artistic, the restaurant turns out to be so Balinese too. The absence of concrete walls except for the bathroom and the kitchen areas, shall allow you to breathe in the fresh morning air while having your breakfast. No air conditioning is needed for such a restaurant, right?

Choice of local style or western breakfast

Mi goreng (Indonesian fried noodles)

For breakfast, you are allowed to choose between simple western food (e.g. toasts) or Indonesian food like soto ayam (rice and chicken soup with yellowish herb) or mi goreng (fried noodles). For the beverage, you can have tea, coffee or juice.

Tranquility right in the heart of Kuta

It’s very easy to get here. Stroll the major Kuta street of Jalan Legian and find building number 113. It’s very close to Kuta beach. If you are traveling from the airport, the easiest way is to call the hotel and ask to be picked up at the airport. It is just 30 minutes from the airport and will cost you 12 USD. Get the comfort and convenience in the artistic hotel for only 28 USD per night. So, why wait?
