No hotel quite reflects the essence of Barcelona like ABaC Restaurant & Hotel in the posh Zona Alta neighborhood. The hotel designer weaved in touches of modern design into the hotel and Michelin restaurant’s two buildings – one of which is a historic building. It truly is a luxurious and unique way to experience the best of Barcelona.

We handpicked these listings carefully, considering (wherever possible) Superhost status, recent guest reviews, location, accommodation type, prices, availability of dates, decor, and amenities. The image galleries get refreshed with the latest updates regularly. They were last updated on March 15, 2024.

Former home of photographer, Dona Madronita Andreu

ABaC Restaurant & Hotel occupies two buildings. One of the buildings was once the home of famed Barcelona photographer, Dona Madronita Andreu and is listed as a monument by the Barcelona City Council. Dona Andreu is credited as one of the first artists to use a movie camera to express her art. To honor and carry on her legacy, the ABaC Hotel merges innovative design and the latest technology throughout the premises. For example, low energy lightbulbs combined with ample use of natural light helps the hotel become more energy efficient.

Luxuriously styled rooms (from USD 267)

Each of the hotel’s 15 rooms is elegantly designed and smartly appointed with amenities like a Bang & Olufsen 32” television and sound system, a Nespresso coffee machine, and remote controlled lights and blinds. The relaxation continues to rain-showers, soundproof walls, and a hot tub with chromo therapy. Seven styles of rooms are available ranging from Standard to the ABaC Suite. As the room levels go up, features like terraces, views, and sitting areas are added.

Home of a Two Star Michelin restaurant

ABaC Restaurant, led by Chef Jordi Cruz, is the winner of two coveted Michelin stars. Chef Cruz is a true product of Barcelona. The seaside city is where he was born, raised, and educated. It’s also where he earned his first Michelin star at the age of 24, making him the youngest chef in Spain to be bestowed the honor.

Chef Cruz took over ABaC Restaurant in 2010. His Catalan influences are alive in the avant-garde tapas style menu. Guests can choose from either a 14-course or 21-course tasting menu. Examples of Chef Cruz’s culinary genius include Iberian suckling pig paired with mango tatin and bamboo-steamed foie gras. Pair your dinner with one of over 1,000 bottles in from wine cellar.

Relaxation in the Subterranean Spa

Guests of ABaC Restaurant & Hotel can also enjoy the spa facilities for an extra 25 GBP (~33.40 USD) a person a day. Spend the day indulging in the cold plunge pool, hammam, underwater sunbeds, and thermal pool with submerged hammocks. Pamper yourself further by opting for a treatment in one of the spa’s two cabins. The service menu includes everything from the Heaven Bee Sting Facial to Sliming Lymph Drainage Massage and Stone Therapy.

Perry Tours

Hello! My name is Perry, originally from the heart of Belgium, famed for its waffles and fries. However, it wasn't just the call of the Spanish sun that brought to Barcelona, but rather a captivating encounter with a German-Uruguayan beauty in Thailand. This led to the birth of our son in Ibiza, and eventually, more than two decades ago, I found myself in the vibrant city of Barcelona. My passion for meeting people from different nationalities and cultures, coupled with an insatiable appetite for adventure, has empowered me to transform ordinary days into extraordinary stories. In 2020, I embarked on a new journey by starting my own sightseeing company, showcasing the wonders of Barcelona to people from all over the world. With nine years of guiding experience in this magnificent city, I am thrilled to share its beauty and hidden gems with you.
