With its rich history, award-winning cuisine, and modern design, a hotel doesn’t come more Barcelona than Ohla Barcelona. From the moment guests enter the avant-garde interior, they embrace a luxury experience that couldn’t be had in any other city. The spoils abound from the spa to the rooftop pool, which entrances guests with its rooftop views.

Seeped in history and tradition

Ohla Barcelona is located on the site of the former palace of the first Count of Barcelona. While nothing remains of the ancient building, the current building does carry more than a bit of history beyond its neoclassic façade. The building was home to Barcelona’s first department store from a bygone era of grandeur. Guests can still enjoy the sculptural work of famed artist Frederic Amat.

Spoiled by the Ohla experience

Ohla Barcelona attempts to meet their guests every need in a manner very similar to the W’s “Whatever, whenever” mantra. Want softer pillows? They will be delivered to your room. Don’t want to walk down to the spa? An in-room massage can be arranged. Need a little extra push in the gym? Ohla Barcelona will arrange a personal trainer for you. The Ohla Experience also extends to the hotel’s rooftop, glass-sided-infinity pool and Chill Out Terrace. The scene is so tranquil that it’s tempting never to venture beyond the hotel’s walls.

Drawn in by the modernly appointed rooms

Ohla Barcelona prides itself in creating an in-room experience that is comfortable and bathed in natural light. The basic room, Essential, offers all the amenities one would expect in a luxury hotel: bathrobes and slippers, rain-effect showers, flat-screen TVs, and iPod docking stations. For a more romantic twist, chose a Design room. The avant-garde layout merges the bathroom and bedroom into a single space with a glass shower separating the two (not ideal for families or friends sharing the room). Suites are available, including the spacious, multi-level Dome Suite and the Penthouse Suite. Suites come with the additions of coffee makers, mood adjustable lighting, and upgraded Bang & Olufsen I-dock stations. Try to request a room with a view of the Gothic Quarter for that added Barcelona touch.

While the hotel’s Michelin rated Sauc is no longer in business, Ohla Barcelona still offers a gastronomic experience that is drenched in vibrant Catalan flavors. La Plassohla has replaced Sauc as the hotel’s upscale tapas restaurant. The Terrace of la Plassohla offers a more casual environment for guests looking for something more toned down. The real star of the show though is Ohla Barcelona’s bar, Ohla Boutique Bar. The bar is famous throughout Barcelona for its award-winning mixologist. Inquire about the Creative Mixology Experience.

Perry Tours

Hello! My name is Perry, originally from the heart of Belgium, famed for its waffles and fries. However, it wasn't just the call of the Spanish sun that brought to Barcelona, but rather a captivating encounter with a German-Uruguayan beauty in Thailand. This led to the birth of our son in Ibiza, and eventually, more than two decades ago, I found myself in the vibrant city of Barcelona. My passion for meeting people from different nationalities and cultures, coupled with an insatiable appetite for adventure, has empowered me to transform ordinary days into extraordinary stories. In 2020, I embarked on a new journey by starting my own sightseeing company, showcasing the wonders of Barcelona to people from all over the world. With nine years of guiding experience in this magnificent city, I am thrilled to share its beauty and hidden gems with you.

Located in the soul of Barcelona

Location doesn’t get much more central then Ohla Barcelona’s home in the Gothic Quarter. Guests can easily walk to the city’s most famous landmarks like the Cathedral of Barcelona, Palau de la Música Concert Hall, the Cathedral, and the Ramblas. There is also a metro station mere footsteps away from the hotel for those looking to explore beyond the Gothic Quarter.
