Located just a short way (around a ten-minute drive) from the centre of Lopburi, Tawan Resort offers a great place to relax, away from the hustle and bustle of town life. Close enough to the main road between Central Thailand’s provinces of Lopburi and Singburi to make for really easy access, it is also far enough away to feel as though you have journeyed into the rural heart of the country. With the river nearby and a smattering of small local restaurants and traditional homes close to hand, lap up the peace and quiet at Tawan Resort.

Lopburi is famous for its monkeys and ancient ruins, as well as being home to interesting museums and sacred temples and shrines. Tawan Resort could be the perfect place to stay when exploring this part of the country.

Super spacious and modern rooms

Tawan Resort is fairly new, having opened in the second half of 2015. The paint still has that beautiful fresh appearance and everything about the resort is spick and span. Invitingly clean and spacious rooms beckon, with all the essential amenities you need for a good night’s sleep. The large bed is draped with crisp white sheets and complete with fluffy pillows, a soft headboard, and a thin, yet comfortable, blanket. The high Thai temperatures mean that you will be grateful not to have a thick plush duvet! If things heat up too much though, you can always flick on the air conditioning.

A flat screen TV is perfectly positioned for bedtime viewing … just make sure that the wide choice of channels doesn’t keep you awake too late! A contemporary table sits in the corner, complete with two sophisticated seats, and the bedside table means that you won’t be fumbling around to find your essentials first thing in the morning whilst still in a drowsy slumber. Rooms have a refrigerator, along with complimentary bottles of drinking water – perfect for parching that morning thirst. A handy bottle opener attached to the wall is a great touch.

Rooms have two external doors; one at the side leading out to the private parking bay and one at the front that takes you onto a small balcony overlooking your own tiny patch of green garden.

Beautiful bathrooms to add to the chic feeling

Boasting two separate shower hoses, one with cold water and one that runs through a water heater, the powerful shower makes starting (or ending) your day a pleasure. A half dividing wall between the shower and sink / toilet area also means that you don’t need to worry about soaking your towel and other items.

Pretty mosaic-like tiles in neutral shades and a gorgeous shimmery silver twig design add a touch of elegance to the otherwise plain walls.

Other facilities and amenities at Tawan Resort

Free Wi-Fi is available in all rooms and the strong signal and reliable connection certainly won’t leave you feeling frustrated.

The reception is manned around the clock and it is possible to purchase a selection of refreshing drinks and snacks at any time of the day or night. You don’t even have to walk across to the main building … simply dial through from the telephone in your room and your goodies will be delivered right to your door.

You’ll find outdoor seating in the leafy gardens if you want to sit awhile and enjoy the fresh air and peaceful atmosphere. A small wooden terrace is available for private functions.

Attractions to enjoy in the vicinity

Lopburi’s Monkey Temple, known in Thai as Phra Prang Sam Yot, is one of the town’s highlights. An ancient Khmer-style temple, many macaques live within its grounds. The symbolic Phra Kaan Shrine is also home to mischievous monkeys, and it is a special place for locals who want to pray and make merit. There are several old ruins to explore and the Somdet Phra Narai Museum is a terrific place to learn more about the town’s history and culture.

Excellent low prices that won’t break the bank

You may expect pretty steep prices for a new and modern resort in a great location … but, happily, you’d be wrong! A night at the lovely Tawan Resort will set you back just 500 THB (approximately 14 USD)! And, to clarify, that’s for the room, not per person! You’d definitely be hard pushed to find somewhere as modern and comfortable for those prices! Stay at Tawan Resort for a tranquil vibe and a comfortable break close to Lopburi’s main attractions.
