1. Hotel Catalonia Passeig de Gràcia (From 304 USD)

I really love this hotel and look forward to visiting again. The rooms are both beautiful and comfortable, including a bath with a lovely rain shower, the staff is friendly and extremely helpful, and the terrace and pool are a refreshing break after a day of sightseeing. I especially love the complimentary tea and refreshments provided every afternoon – way to go! Jane
The Hotel Catalonia Passeig de Gràcia is located right on Gran Via de les Corts Catalanes, one of Barcelona’s main boulevards and one that is lined with many shops and restaurants. The hotel is situated within a building that dates from 1928, but the interiors are modern and elegant. Fans of Gaudi will be pleased to know that Casa Batlló and La Pedrera are within a short walking distance. With the Passeig de Gràcia metro station a mere 2-minute walk from the hotel, you can get to many attractions with ease. What you are sure to really like about this hotel is the daily afternoon tea buffet offered to all hotel guests, free of charge! After a day of shopping and sightseeing, there is nothing like coming back to your hotel for a short siesta and free food!

This is an amazing hotel in an amazing location. We fell in love with Barcelona and this hotel! We will definitely come again. The rooftop breakfast was a highlight. All the staff were amazing 5 Star people Craig

Beachfront exclusivity

4. W Barcelona (From 522 USD)

Great location by the beach. Modern room with stunning floor to ceiling glass wall view of the coastline. Huge shower with rain shower head. Pool and bar overlooking the beach plus nightclub on the 26th floor. More than we usually spend but absolutely worth it. Would love to stay there again. Christine
Be the envy of all as a guest at W Barcelona, an impressive hotel shaped like a sail that stands glittering on Barceloneta Beach. Be entranced by the spectacular views of the Mediterranean or the city (or both, if you pay a little more) from your hotel room. W Barcelona looks like it was taken straight out of the glossy pages of a luxury magazine. It pays to indulge yourself as the modern and chic rooms all come with a chaise lounge, flat-screen TV, iPod docking station, and rainfall shower. One of the best features of W Barcelona has to be the rooftop infinity pool terrace where you can enjoy refreshing panoramic views as you lounge on the daybeds or sip on a cocktail. You also have direct beach access so you are just steps away from the water’s edge. As this hotel is slightly further away from the attractions in downtown Barcelona, this makes the perfect getaway for beach lovers who want to escape from the realities of daily life.

Passeig Joan de Borbó

W Barcelona, one of the stylish hotels in the city, not only offers creature comforts but also places you close to the beautiful Passeig Joan de Borbó in the Barceloneta district. Interestingly, this area was once an old fishermen's quarter, situated in an area that was previously almost uninhabited. It was the proximity to the sea that attracted the fisherfolk, making them the first settlers in this part of the city.

5. Hotel Arts Barcelona (From 358 USD)

Incredible service, pool area and location. We were fortunate enough to be upgraded to one of the apartments which was a truly beautiful room and experience. Would recommend this hotel very highly indeed

Jamie

The ideal base from which to explore the Barceloneta district, this contemporary-design hotel is right beside the Olympic Port, a marina that was built for the Barcelona Olympic Games in 1992. The Arts Hotel’s chic rooms are fitted with a Bang & Olufsen flat-screen TV and sound system, while the bathrooms feature a bathtub and hydromassage shower. The rooms also have unblocked views of either the sea or the city as the hotel towers above the other surrounding buildings. Take a swim in the outdoor pool, which is right beside the giant shimmering golden fish sculpture designed by Frank Gehry, or dine at the hotel’s 2-Michelin-starred restaurant, Enoteca, which serves fine Mediterranean cuisine. Do note that extra is charged for Wi-Fi; it costs 30.25 EUR (USD 33.68) per 24 hours.

Ciutat Vella (Gothic Quarter)

6. The Wittmore Hotel (From 307 USD)

This is a hidden jewel in the heart of Barcelona, beautiful new hotel with a unique sense of good taste. Perfect location, perfect service and great attention to details. Definitely recommendable for those who want to make out of Barcelona a superb experience. Thanks to all the staff, we were treated impeccably. Hopefully we will come back. German
This boutique hotel with just 22 rooms provides guests with an oasis of peace and quiet in the old town (Gothic Quarter). For guests who want to experience the atmosphere in the oldest part of Barcelona, The Wittmore Hotel, which only recently opened its doors this year, is a good choice. There is a mysterious charm to the hotel that just beckons one to come in, especially when your first glimpse of the hotel is of its patio, home to the tallest vertical garden in Barcelona. The sundeck isn’t very big but you do get an unpretentious view of the old town, making it feel very local. Guests also praise the friendliness and high service levels of the staff, so you can be assured of a fantastic stay here.

7. Hotel Neri (From 425 USD)

Stunning property in fabulous location. Loved the interiors with quirky art installations (the Boa Sofa was quite the hit with the boys). The staff were truly world-class, ultra-helpful and kind staff. Little touches like the chocolates on the bed each night and the hammocks on the roof garden where my husband and I got to sample the local fortified wine each night go a long way to building good memories.. Lene
Located in the heart of the Jewish Quarter and just steps away from Barcelona Cathedral, Hotel Neri exudes a noble yet romantic charm. This could be in part due to its stellar location in the old town, or perhaps because the hotel was built by restoring two aristocratic buildings: a palace from the 12th century and an 18th-century mansion. The interior design also successfully blends and harmonises the ancient and the contemporary to create a classy yet cosy atmosphere. Do note that there is no pool or gym, but its location and charm more than makes up for this. The rooms at the back look out over an idyllic gothic courtyard, but it might get a little noisy when children from a nearby school play there.

Hotel Neri

Address: Carrer de Sant Sever, 5, 08002 Barcelona, Spain (see map)

Price: From 425 USD

Barcelona Cathedral

The charming Hotel Neri places you closer to Barcelona Cathedral, dedicated to Saint Eulália, one of the patronesses of Barcelona. Its construction began in the 13th century and lasted more than 200 years. The fate of this saint is shrouded in many legends and the only certain thing is that she was a young Christian girl, born in 292 in Mérida. She died at the age of 12, and it's related to the cruel rule of Emperor Diocletian, who persecuted Christians. The circumstances under which she was caught, imprisoned, and then publicly tortured are unclear. At the adjacent courtyard, you may encounter a flock of thirteen snow-white geese. They symbolize the martyrdom of Saint Eulalia because according to one of the legends, the girl was reincarnated as a goose after her death.
