1. Tifnit

Posted by Surfline Morocco on Friday, 6 January 2017

Tifnit is the perfect spot for any surfer looking for peace, tranquility, and of course, great waves to grow their surfing skills. Tifnit experiences offshore winds from the southeast, which produce quality waves that are smooth to surf: Waves that you can easily draw lines and practice different tricks on them. When surfing against such waves, you are bound to experience a bit of resistance, which is good if you are pro-surfer but always take great care because they can be dangerous at times. This is why it is advisable to visit Tifnit in groups, perhaps with your friends or even colleagues.

3. Banana Point

Banana Point is an exposed right-hand point break in Central Morocco, which boasts long, easy, and reliable waves. The break at Banana Point occurs at the headland reef producing a perfect wave that is shielded from the wind blowing from the north. On the other hand, the cross-shore winds are not sheltered, but their effect on the shape of the wave is minimal because the offshore breezes blowing at Banana Point are strong as compared to the former. Some possible hazards to look out for, while surfing in Banana Point include rip currents, undertows, and sharp rocks both on the beach and the ocean bed.

4. CroCro surf spot

Surfing at CroCro Today was great to chill with new people and meet old friends: our moroccan champion Yassine Ramdani...

CroCro is an excellent surf spot with a fantastic beach break and smooth waves that are perfect for beginners. CroCro surf Spot has many amenities and services tailored to the needs of beginners, including surf rentals and guide services. The seabed at CroCro is mostly sand, which plays two significant roles. First, the sand assists in the formation of an excellent beach break. Also, accidents in surf spots with sandy ocean beds tend to be fewer as compared to those with rocky bottoms. However, CroCro surf Spot is often crowded so you have to be there early in the morning if you want to enjoy quality surf before the area surf schools start pouring in.

6. Spider

This morning's waves at Spiders! #surf #morocco

Posted by The Spot Morocco on Friday, 13 December 2013

Also in South Taghazout is Spider, another great surf spot with northwestern swells that produce fast and hollow waves that are ideal for intermediate and expert surfers. Spider is one of the best places in Taghazout to work on your skills and build more power to help conquer bigger waves. The best length and height to expect while surfing in Spider are 30 m (98.4 ft) and 1.8 m (6 ft), respectively. Such a wave gives good rides and enough challenges to practice aerial surfing and tube riding, among other tricks. An import point to note about Spider is that its waves are not very consistent so it is important to be patient and considerate of other surfers.

Contrary to what the name ‘Devil’s Rock’ may lead you to believe, the surf spot actually has a sand bottom, which creates sizable swells that are ideal for beginners. In the past, many people were unwilling to try the stunning waves at Anza because the water used to be heavily polluted.
