On March 12, 2024, the Taal Main Crater, part of the famed Taal Volcano visible from Tagaytay, erupted with steam. According to INQUIRER.net, there is no cause for alarm for locals or tourists, as the steam was just caused by volcanic gases accumulating in the crater. The volcano remains at Alert Level 1 (low-level unrest).

Beach life in and near Tagaytay
While Tagaytay itself is not known for its beaches, it is only about an hour’s drive from different municipalities and beaches in Batangas. Lemery is 31.3 km (19.45 mi) away and boasts beaches such as those by Rico Beach Resort and Catibog Beach Resort. Meanwhile, Nasugbu, which is 46.2 km (28.71 mi) away via Tagaytay-Nasugbu Highway, is home to Pico de Loro (Cutad) Cove and Angara Cove. Although the beaches are a bit far from Tagaytay, I would simply pop on some music to make the time pass pleasantly.
After a day of frolicking underneath the sun, you can return to cooler temperatures in Tagaytay. During the summer (March to May), the temperature remains below 30°C (86°F)—a welcome reprieve if you’re coming from the warmer temperatures of Metro Manila.
