Bangkok is home to shopping malls of mega sizes that could take days to explore. Don’t even get me started on their weekend and night markets that will give the phrase “shop till you drop” a whole new meaning. It is then a no-brainer for them to also provide services of relaxation like the traditional Thai massage or a fish spa. An alternative relaxation go-to would be to spend your time at Purr Cat Café Bangkok with over 30 exotic and cuddly cats desperately wanting your attention.

Cats rule!

Purr Cat Café cats are the true owners of the café and they have set up a few rules for humans entering the café. Humans entering this cat haven is required to take off their shoes and change into the house slippers provided. Cats are serious about hygiene so you have to wash your hands before touching any of the cats. Before stepping into the cat zone, you will be handed a piece of paper telling you how to handle the cats. You can pet them and play with them using the toys provided but you are not allowed to poke or carry them or wake up a sleeping cat.

Yummy human treats!

Entry into the cat café is 200THB (5.55USD) with no time limit. That means you are able to hang out with the cats as long as you want or at least till the cats get bored of your presence. Purr Cat Café offers a great variety of desserts and drinks perfect for you to enjoy while entertaining the cats. Good news is, your entrance fee will be waived with the purchase of any set menu. Each set menu comes with a drink and dessert. They serve a variety of drinks like smoothies, tea in a pot, fancy coffee with whiskers-shaped foam and soft drinks along with yummy cakes and pies like chocolate cake, New York cheesecake, blueberry cheese pie, scones of feline structure and brownies. If that is not enough, they also serve ice cream of a few flavours like milk and green tea. Remember not to feed the cats with human food no matter how cute they look!

A cat family affair

The Cat Family Tree displayed at the kitchen counter is the most adorable thing in the café (besides the cats of course). Their names are displayed under their photos for you to get to know them a little better! Some of the breeds of cats included in the café are Maine Coons, Persian, Norwegian Forest Cat and Exotic Shorthair. The cats have a close bond with the servers in the café who are constantly giving them a lot of love every day.

You can’t get enough!

Cats are known to sleep at least 16 hours a day so don’t be surprise if the cats are mostly asleep when you arrive. But not to worry, some are considerate enough to acknowledge your presence. You will find some of them taking a snooze on the comfortable arm chairs, tables, shelves or stretched out on the floor.

Cat haven!

There are plenty of tables and chairs for humans to go around but sometimes, the cats may choose to sleep on one of these comfortable chairs! Ensure that you check your seat first to prevent from sitting on a sleeping cat. A much safer choice is to opt for floor seats where it will be easier for you to interact and play with the cats.

Easy to get there
