Campo Grande in Brazil is known as the ‘Cidade Morena’ as it’s notorious for its red-coloured soil. This intriguing museum is the perfect place for those wanting to spend a few hours fully immersed in all the culture that Campo Grande has to offer. The museum is split into two parts; one contains a collection of over 10,000 insects and stuffed flora and fauna, whereas the other boasts an introduction to the indigenous people of the Mato Grosso region, with displays showcasing weaponry, tools and many other fascinating objects. The museum is sure to provide you with plenty of culture and a whole wealth of knowledge for you to enjoy.

Varandas do Pantanal is a wonderful restaurant where both locals and tourists gather to enjoy true Pantaneiro cuisine. There’s plenty of delicious dishes to choose from so you’ll never be stuck for options! Some of the delicacies offered by Varandas do Pantanal include sarrabulho (a delicious stew made with hearts, kidneys, and liver) and arroz pantaneiro (a rice dish cooked with beef and sausage). You can also enjoy sipping on plenty of caipirinhas while you enjoy an array of live music.

3. Indigenous Nations Park

The Indigenous Nations Park occupies an area of 119 hectares (300 acres) and preserves an ecological reserve. There is a number of bridges strategically located throughout the park to help you to cross over to the small island that resides on a large lake. The park is a great place to visit when in Campo Grande as it’s home to a number of fascinating attributes. You can also take advantage of a number of hiking trails so you can really spend the day exploring the area.

The Shrine of Nossa Senhora do Perpetuo Socorro is a peaceful environment that is perfect for fully absorbing the beautiful culture that it has to offer. It’s a beautiful church where both locals and tourists visit regularly to admire its tranquility. The wonderful church maintains its old structure but it has been very well preserved and looked after.

Spend an afternoon exercising at the Belmar Fidalgo Stadium where there are many activities to participate in. You can enjoy an energetic workout using some of the many available facilities, or simply enjoy a leisurely game of football. Whatever you choose to do at Belmar Fidalgo Stadium, you’re sure to have a truly enjoyable afternoon. There are two poly sports courts, an arena for sand courts, a jogging track and a Swiss soccer field, amongst many other facilities for you to enjoy. It can get fairly busy on weekends as it’s such a popular place in Campo Grande.

The Sao Jose Church is an incredibly beautiful building, teeming with gorgeous architecture and glorious interior features. It’s in an easily accessible location so it’s perfect for popping in and having a mosey around. It is regarded as one of the most beautiful Catholic churches in the city, so you should definitely check it out during your stay in Campo Grande.

7. Matas do Segredo State Park

The Matas do Segredo State Park is primarily used for research and environmental education for school children. But, many tourists can also enjoy its features, including a number of ecological trails, a belvedere, and a visitor center. The park covers a vast expanse of over 176 hectares (439.6 acres) and is a source of many springs of the Córrego Segredo.
