During the day, Flagstaff, Arizona is a fun city with a lively downtown scene. At night, the fun continues with family-friendly and date night attractions. From bowling to historic bars to a famous observatory, Flagstaff keeps the party going, well into the night.

1. Lowell Observatory

For an after dark, family fun activity, check out the Lowell Observatory. Since 1894, the Lowell Observatory has been the location of many discoveries, including first detecting the universe’s expanding nature, moon mapping for the Apollo program, the rings of Uranus, and of course, the discovery of Pluto. At the museum, you can not only learn more about space exploration and the Pluto Discovery Telescope during the day but at night, an outdoor program outlining constellations is hosted, perfect for understanding the mythology of the sky. For a closer look, you can view the night sky through the observatory telescopes, including the historic Clark Refractor Telescope.
