1. Lowell Observatory

For an after dark, family fun activity, check out the Lowell Observatory. Since 1894, the Lowell Observatory has been the location of many discoveries, including first detecting the universe’s expanding nature, moon mapping for the Apollo program, the rings of Uranus, and of course, the discovery of Pluto. At the museum, you can not only learn more about space exploration and the Pluto Discovery Telescope during the day but at night, an outdoor program outlining constellations is hosted, perfect for understanding the mythology of the sky. For a closer look, you can view the night sky through the observatory telescopes, including the historic Clark Refractor Telescope.

3. The Museum Club

Old yet fully alive, The Museum Club is a national and state historic landmark that continues to bring the party, despite being built almost 90 years ago. Built in 1931, The Museum Club was one of the original Route 66 Roadhouses, and in 1936, after Prohibition ended, the 5,000-square-foot (500-square-meter) log cabin became a bar. During your visit, you will find two full bars, 12 booths, table seating, an outdoor patio, and a full menu of casual foods.

4. Orpheum Theater

As the first speakeasy in Flagstaff, The Monte Vista Cocktail Lounge has welcomed everyone from celebrities to law-breakers to skiers to river runners.
