You can enjoy the flavor of the Coastal Forio in the beautiful beach Citara. This beach is located 30 minute’s walk away from the town center. There is an old legend connected with this beach. It seems that Feaci, the people living at Scheria or Ischia, provided Odysseus, the famous Greek king of Ithaca, the means to go back to his home. Thus, Goddess Venus punished those Feaci people by turning them into stone. It is believed that the rocks around the beach are those poor Feacis. Alongside history, the beach is quite enchanting with the modern bars and restaurants. There are another two beaches of the town as well, Cava dell'Isola and San Francesco.
