No matter how modern the town is, the town center of this city still preserves the history of this town. All through the island of Ischia, Forio has preserved the architecture from the medieval and Baroque era. This town has faced the attacks from the Saracens many times, which they had captured eventually. Thus, the architecture of the town also boosts the Saracen ancestry. The town center of Forio is best discovered by foot. Apart from the church of Chiesa del Soccorso, there is Torrione, which is considered as the icon of Forio. Torrione is the icon of Forio. It is a fortified watch-tower, located in the heart of Forio. It was constructed in the year 1480 for the protection of this island. It used to protect this town from the attacks of the Saracen and pirates. At that time this tower used to have 4 cannons for protecting the town. Nowadays this tower serves as a museum. It showcases the art of the famous artist Giovanni Maltese. Giovanni Maltese can be described as a sculptor, poet, and artist. He was born in the year 1852 in this town. He had spent a large part of his life in this tower, which was presented to him by the town community. The tower also offers a great view of the town from this tower.

4. Enjoy the beaches of this town
You can enjoy the flavor of the Coastal Forio in the beautiful beach Citara. This beach is located 30 minute’s walk away from the town center. There is an old legend connected with this beach. It seems that Feaci, the people living at Scheria or Ischia, provided Odysseus, the famous Greek king of Ithaca, the means to go back to his home. Thus, Goddess Venus punished those Feaci people by turning them into stone. It is believed that the rocks around the beach are those poor Feacis. Alongside history, the beach is quite enchanting with the modern bars and restaurants. There are another two beaches of the town as well, Cava dell'Isola and San Francesco.

Located on the Citara Beach, the Poseidon Gardens are famous for their amazing varieties of Natural Thermal Pools. There are 22 different pools for the disposal of the visitors, which possess different temperatures. The volcanic features of the earth in this area regulate the temperature of these pools. 6. Take a full day to explore Frazione of Panza
The Frazione de Panza is a small town located within the community of Forio. Panza is a typical Italian small village which has many hidden attractions like Sorgeto Hot Springs.
