Mount Athos is a unique place, made by the faith of the orthodox Christian monks. It is a very quiet place with nice natural scenery and we recommend that you talk to the people you’ll meet there. A pilgrimage to Mount Athos takes you back to the 10th-century AD. Everything is amazingly different from the time, the date, the architecture, the food and the nature. All you have to do is follow the way of the monks, and you will find yourself in heaven. It is one of the trips you should do at least once in your life!

Ancient Stagira

Posted by Aristotelia Gi on Monday, 16 May 2016

Be fascinated at this amazingly ancient city. The gem and the home of the great Aristotle is none other than Ancient Stagira. Ancient Stagira is located southeast of today’s settlement of Olympiada, on a small, mountainous and beautiful peninsula, which is called Liotopi. The town took both hills, one coastal at the North and one bigger at the South, which are divided by a low neck.

The views from the hill are so stunning. There are also many small beaches around it and this is a great place for a walk. There are also ruins located in a few spots, which are neat to see. From the most strategic high points you’ll have far-reaching views, up to wooded hillsides inland and along the coast, to hidden sandy coves. Be sure to bring walking shoes, water and hat. The site is very clean and nicely organized with information about each part.

7. Discover Ancient Olynthos

Old places have soul! <3

Enjoy time traveling at Ancient Olynthos - the place is very quiet and loaded with history. The ruins cover the north side of the destroyed city of Olynthos. The city was built 2,400 years ago and the ruins give you a very nice idea of the city if you take time to read the information boards. The place is full of life so be careful where you put your feet, to not walk on snails, insects, ladybirds and butterflies.
